The immunomodulating properties of a low cholera toxin (CT) dose over the systemic antibody response against Vibrio cholerae antigens after a comparatively extensive period of time were evaluated. Groups of 10 mice were injected intraperitoneally three times at 0, 30 and 86 days with 500 microl of buffer or 10(8) viable recombinant V. cholerae bacteria (lacking cholera toxin A subunit) with or without 100 ng of CT.
