Background: HER2-positive molecular breast cancer subtypes are characterized by high aggressiveness and malignancy, and their metastasis and mortality rates are among the highest of all types of breast cancer. The use of anti-HER2-targeted agents in neoadjuvant therapy has significantly improved the prognosis of patients with HER2-positive breast cancer. In this study, we investigated the efficacy and safety of a neoadjuvant Chinese THP regimen (docetaxel, trastuzumab biosimilar TQB211 plus the pertuzumab biosimilar TQB2440 or pertuzumab) for ER/PR-negative and HER2-positive breast cancer in China.

Background: Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive metastatic breast cancer patients continue to progress despite multiple anti-HER2-targeted treatments. A number of studies have found that Pyrotinib, a small-molecule pan-ErbB receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), is effective in treating patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Pyrotinib in the treatment of HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer.

This study aimed to investigate the treatment pattern and real-world outcomes in hormone receptor positive and human epidermal growth factor 2 receptor negative (HR+/HER2-) metastatic breast cancer (MBC) patients treated with Palbociclib in the northwest of China.
Methods: HR+/HER2- MBC patients who received Palbociclib in 8 centers from July 2017 to September 2019 were retrospectively included in this study.
The delayed access to cancer treatment due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic posed a unique challenge to breast cancer patients and caused a significant level of mental distress among them. In the current research, we examined the psychological impacts of COVID on a subpopulation of breast cancer patients from a hospital in Shaanxi province of China using Symptom Checklist-90-R (SCL-90-R). Participants were 195 breast cancer patients at the outpatient clinic of Xijing hospital, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China.

Emerging evidence suggests that ubiquitin and ubiquitination played a role in a number of breast cancer etiology and progression processes. As the primary deubiquitinases in the family, ubiquitin-specific peptidases (USPs) are thought to represent potential therapeutic targets.

Case Summary: We presented a case diagnosed with the HER-2+ breast cancer patient who exhibited changes in the expression of HER-2 receptors on tumour samples from surgical specimens obtained after neoadjuvant treatment (NAT) compared with initial biopsy. The patient underwent a HER-2-targeted therapy consequently, in spite of HER+ gene loss.
Objective: To explore the correlation between HER-2 status and pathological complete response (pCR) in HER-2-positive breast cancer after dual anti-HER-2 neoadjuvant therapy with trastuzumab and pertuzumab.
Methods: A total of 57 HER-2-positive breast cancer patients admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University and Xijing Hospital Affiliated to Air Force Military Medical University, between January 1, 2019 and September 30, 2020, were enrolled in this multicenter retrospective study. HER-2 status, including HER-2/CEP17 ratio and HER-2/cell number ratio, was detected by FISH.
Unlabelled: To study the clinical efficacy and safety of different biliary drainages in malignant obstructive jaundice (MOJ) treatment.
Methods: 69 patients with MOJ admitted to our hospital from October 2016 to March 2019 were recruited as the study cohort and divided into an endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography group (the ERCP group, n=38) and a percutaneous transhepatic cholangial drainage group (the PTCD group, n=31) according to the different drainage approaches each patient underwent. We compared the two groups' hepatic function indexes (total serum bilirubin (TB), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and aspartate aminotransferase (AST)), their immune cells (CD3+ T cells, CD4+ T cells, and CD8+ T cells), surgical success rates, jaundice reduction response rates, and postoperative complications.
Achieving satisfactory cosmetic results after breast-conserving surgery (BCS) can be difficult for breast cancer patients with large tumors. To avoid breast asymmetries and deformation, we present a case of breast reconstruction after BCS with a lateral mammary adipofascial flap, which was dissociated along the sentinel lymph node biopsy incision. During the procedure, the pedicled flap was transferred into the residual tumor cavity through a tunnel between them and then matched the residual cavity.

Recently, the molecular features of QNBC are not well understood. Different from AR-positive triple-negative breast cancer, QNBC is insensitive to conventional chemotherapeutic agents and has no efficient treatment targets.

Background: BRCA1 and BRCA2 are the most well-known susceptibility genes in breast cancer, indicating high-risk breast cancer families and influencing both treatment options. However, data of BRCA mutation in Chinese breast cancer population was limited. Here we explored the BRCA1/2 mutation status and analyzed their clinicopathological relationships among breast cancer patients with high hereditary risk in northwest China.

Methods: The retrospective study was conducted among luminal breast cancer patients admitted to Xijing Hospital between October 10, 2016, and September 14, 2018. Real-time PCR was used for 21-genome detection.
Endocrine therapy resistance invariably develops in advanced estrogen receptor-positive (ER) breast cancer, but the underlying mechanisms are largely unknown. We have identified C-terminal SRC kinase (CSK) as a critical node in a previously unappreciated negative feedback loop that limits the efficacy of current ER-targeted therapies. Estrogen directly drives CSK expression in ER breast cancer.

Purpose: Acquired resistance to chemotherapeutic agents in breast cancer is a major clinical challenge. Recent studies have shown that the emergence of cancer stem cells contributes to the development of drug resistance, and the protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5) was crucial for the maintenance of stemness. However, the roles of PRMT5 in breast cancer cell stemness and the development of cancer drug resistance have not been clarified.

However, for the patients with large mass or worse mass position, omental flap transplantation may provide a new option for breast reconstruction.
Patient Concerns: Ten patients (6 luminal B1, 2 luminal B2, 2 luminal A), were enrolled into the study, between January 23, 2015 and August 22, 2016.
Emerging but limited data have evidenced an essential involvement of microRNAs (miRNAs) in the development and progression of triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), which empowers these small regulators as an innovative therapeutic approach, especially for this unique tumor subgroup still lacking an efficient and specific therapeutic target. Herein, we reported the down-regulation of miR-34c-3p level in TNBC tissues, and its expression was closely associated with estrogen receptor alpha (ERα), but not other receptors, in well-characterized breast cancer (BCa) cells. Functionally, ectopic expression of miR-34c-3p inhibited migration, invasion and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in TNBC cells.
