Exploring Patient Needs and Preferences in CKD Education: A Cross-Sectional Survey Study.

Key Points: This largest to date patient survey study explores what patients with kidney disease want to know about treatments, such as dialysis or conservative management. A surprising number of patients want extensive doctor-like education, but are willing to spend only several hours on education. Patients are notably open to online and digital educational modalities—technology may allow for individualized and ongoing patient education.

Varicocelectomy improves sperm parameters, sperm DNA integrity as well as the other critical semen features.

Varicocele is a major entity defined within male infertility. In this report we have studied the influence of laparoscopic varicocelectomy on semen quality, biochemical parameters of seminal plasma and sperm DNA fragmentation. In this study, the semen samples from patients with left-side varicocele of grade II-III before and after laparoscopic varicocelectomy were compared to healthy individuals and separated into three groups.

[Y-chromosome microdeletions as a prognostic marker of male infertility].

The results of molecular-genetic study of Y-chromosome microdeletions in men with spermatogenesis failure and in patients with cryptorchism are presented. The molecular-genetic studies of regions AZFa, AZFb, AZFc in STS loci - sY84, sY86, sY127, sY134, sY254, sY255 and SRY gene have been performed. Y-chromosome microdeletions were detected in 13,3% infertile men with spermogram failure.
