Article Synopsis
  • - The study analyzed frailty levels in 79 patients on hemodialysis, finding a significant frailty rate of 64.56%, with an average patient age of about 52 years.
  • - Frailty was assessed using a Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB), handgrip strength, and triceps skinfold thickness, revealing a strong correlation between SPPB scores and both handgrip strength and skinfold thickness.
  • - While univariate analysis identified factors like age, gender, and physical measures as predictive of frailty, only increasing age remained significant in multivariate analysis, suggesting it is the primary predictor of frailty in these patients.
