In the last few years, there has been a growing interest in Cytokeratin 19 (CK19) studies in the cancer research field. CK19 belongs to the Type I CKs, serves as a useful research tool in prognosis, diagnosis, and management of the tumors. In this paper, we dissect the metastatic potential of CK19, its relation with cancer stem cells and retinal epithelial cells behavior, its application as a tumor marker and its role among 30 cancers such as thyroid, thoracic, lung, pancreatic, cervical, colorectal, and so forth.

Identification of the immunogenic epitopes of the whole venom component of the Hemiscorpius lepturus scorpion using the phage display peptide library.

The venom of the Hemiscorpius lepturus scorpion contains mixtures of bioactive compounds that disturb biochemical and physiological functions of the victims. Hemiscorpius lepturus envenomation is recognized as a serious health concern in tropical regions. So far, there is no preventive procedure, and the main focus is on treatment of victims with an antiserum purified from hyper-immunized horses.

Hemiscorpius lepturus scorpionism poses one of the most dangerous health problems in many parts of the world. The common therapy consists of using antivenom antibody fragments derived from a polyclonal immune response raised in horses. However, this immunotherapy creates serious side effects, including anaphylactic shock sometimes even leading to death.

Non-coding CK19 RNA in peripheral blood and tissue of breast cancer patients.

Breast carcinoma is the major cause of cancer-related death in women. The incidence of this carcinoma is rising and there are many attempts to decrease this problem. The aim of this study was detection of full-length cytokeratin 19 (CK19) mRNA, in peripheral blood and tissue of breast cancer patients in early stage of cancer.
