  • The study aimed to investigate the patterns of gastric cancer and its relationship with histology, specifically focusing on the signet ring cell variant and Helicobacter pylori infection.
  • Conducted at Aga Khan University Hospital, the research involved 105 patients with gastric adenocarcinoma, categorizing tumors as proximal, distal, or affecting the whole stomach.
  • The findings indicated a significant prevalence of distal gastric cancer, a greater likelihood for proximal tumors to exhibit signet ring cell histology, and no notable link between Helicobacter pylori infection and tumor characteristics.
