Self-reported depression and its risk factors among hypertensive patients, Morocco: a cross-sectional study.

Hypertensive patients are at an elevated risk of developing mental diseases such as depression, which can impair their quality of life. The purpose of this study is to measure the prevalence of self-reported depression among hypertensive patients treated at primary health care facilities in Marrakech. Between May 2021 and December 2022, a cross-sectional study of 1053 hypertensive patients attending primary health care facilities in Marrakech was conducted.

Determinants associated with low dietary diversity among migrants to Morocco: a cross sectional study.

Low dietary diversity (LDD) is prevalent among vulnerable populations, posing a morbidity risk. Few studies have been conducted on the dietary diversity of migrants. The objectives of this study are to determine the prevalence of LDD among migrants in Morocco and the risk factors associated with it.

Fractal-Like Kinetics of Adsorption Applied to the Solid/Solution Interface.

In this paper, the fractal-like multiexponential (f-mexp) equation was modified by introducing the fractional fractal exponent to each stage of the adsorption process. The new equation was used for the analysis of kinetic adsorption of copper onto treated attapulgite. The modeling results show that the modified f-mexp equation fits properly the kinetic data in comparison with the classical and fractal-like kinetic models tested.

Mechanics and hemodynamics of esophageal varices during peristaltic contraction.

Our hypothesis states that variceal pressure and wall tension increase dramatically during esophageal peristaltic contractions. This increase in pressure and wall tension is a natural consequence of the anatomy and physiology of the esophagus and of the esophageal venous plexus. The purpose of this study was to evaluate variceal hemodynamics during peristaltic contraction.
