Objective: Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is the most common type of malignancy in the head and neck region worldwide. The therapeutic strategies for HNSCC remain unsatisfying and limited. Here, we found a population of resistant Bmi1-expressing cells in the presence of cetuximab treatment and reported a novel role of SRY-box transcription factor 18 (SOX18), a member of the SOX family, in promoting HNSCC resistance to cetuximab.

The alteration of VSMC phenotype is a key step in vascular diseases, including atherosclerosis. Although the transcriptome shift during VSMC phenotype alteration has been intensively investigated, uncovering multiple key regulatory signalling pathways, the translatome dynamics in this cellular process, remain largely unknown.

Dopamine receptor agonists (DAs) are effective in reducing prolactin levels and tumor mass, but some prolactinoma patients are resistant to DAs. Treating patients with DA-resistant prolactinoma is challenging.

Among these lncRNAs, MEG3 displays low levels in various neoplasms and tumor cell lines. However, the regulatory mechanism of MEG3 and MIR-376B-3P, one of the microRNAs from downstream gene clusters of the DLK1-MEG3 locus, remains insufficiently defined.

For further studying the pathogenesis and new therapeutic targets of pituitary adenoma, cell lines and primary cells are necessary tools. Different from primary cells that have short survival time and hormone secretion maintenance time, cell lines would be endowed with immortal characteristics under the help of gene modification.
