The title compound, C(14)H(16)N(8)O(2) (2+)·2ClO(4) (-), was prepared by reaction of bis-[amino-(2-pyrid-yl)methyl-ene]oxalohydrazide with perchloric acid. The mol-ecular symmetry is C(i) and thus the asymmetric unit comprises one half-mol-ecule. The dihedral angle between the aromatic ring and the plane of the oxamide group is 70.
