Purpose: Korean immigrant families are growing in the Southern United States (U.S), an area where culturally specific resources can be limited. Korean immigrant families encounter distress in navigating the American culture, but cultural stigma impedes discussion within the family.

The proposed approach integrates both unsupervised and supervised learning paradigms, employing autoencoders (AE) for the unsupervised component and fully connected neural networks (FNN) for the supervised component. A surrogate model based on 2D image data was developed, enabling a comparative analysis of three distinct methods: the conventional AE, the convolutional autoencoder (CAE), and a hybrid CAE, which combines the CAE with a conventional AE.

Traditional manual goniometry often lacks precision and is subject to inter-observer variability, especially in measuring shoulder internal rotation (IR). This study introduces an artificial intelligence (AI)-based approach that uses clinical photography to improve the accuracy of ROM quantification.

However, it is difficult to measure the major axis of bones in WBLR without using auxiliary lines. Herein, we develop semantic segmentation with a deep learning model (DLm) on the WBLR of the foot for enhanced diagnosis of pes planus and pes cavus.

We explored the use of budesonide, added to posttransplant cyclophosphamide (PTCy), tacrolimus, and mycophenolate mofetil, for prevention of GI aGVHD after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (AHSCT) in a prospective observational study and treated 80 patients with a median age of 53 years (range 19-74). Results were compared with a publicly available CIBMTR dataset of 646 patients who received PTCy-based GVHD prophylaxis (CIBMTR Study # GV17-02) (control).

In the present study, we investigated the predisposing risk factors affecting the reversibility of LV diastolic filling pattern (DFP) in patients with preserved EF.
Materials And Methods: A total of 600 patients with pseudonormal LVDFP and preserved EF who underwent follow-up echocardiography were enrolled between 2011 and 2020.
Background And Objectives: The optimal timing for complete revascularization (CR) in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and multivessel disease (MVD) remain uncertain.
Methods: This post-hoc analysis of the FRAME-AMI trial included AMI patients with MVD ( = 549). They were classified into immediate ( = 329) and staged CR ( = 220) groups.
To quantify the extent of the disruption and recovery of lung cancer detection during the first two years of the pandemic, focusing on disparities across demographic and community factors. This retrospective cohort study used the SEER database to identify lung cancer cases from 2001 to 2021. Expected incidence rates for 2020 and 2021 were projected based on pre-pandemic trends (2000-2019) using the NCI's Joinpoint Regression program.

Methods And Analysis: The SMart Angioplasty Research Team: DEcision on Medical Therapy in Patients with Coronary Artery DIsease or Structural Heart Disease Undergoing InterventiON (SMART-DECISION) trial is a multicentre, prospective, open-label, randomised, non-inferiority trial designed to determine whether discontinuing β-blocker therapy after ≥1 year of maintenance in stabilised patients after AMI is non-inferior to continuing it. Patients eligible for participation are those without HF or left ventricular systolic dysfunction (ejection fraction >40%) who have been continuing β-blocker therapy for ≥1 year after AMI.
Monitoring radioactive cesium ions (Cs) in seawater is vital for environmental safety but remains challenging due to limitations in the accessibility, stability, and selectivity of traditional methods. This study presents an innovative approach that combines electrochemical voltammetry using nickel hexacyanoferrate (NiHCF) thin-film electrode with machine learning (ML) to enable accurate and portable detection of Cs. Optimizing the fabrication of NiHCF thin-film electrodes enabled the development of a robust sensor that generates cyclic voltammograms (CVs) sensitive to Cs⁺ concentrations as low as 1 ppb in synthetic seawater and 10 ppb in real seawater, with subtle changes in CV patterns caused by trace Cs⁺ effectively identified and analyzed using ML.

Traditionally, a torn PP was treated with Weil osteotomy through a dorsal approach. However, because of the limited visualization of the dorsal approach, PP repair through a plantar approach has been proposed as a new technique.

Firearm injuries increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, but the impact on communities by degree of socioeconomic disadvantage is unknown. We examined the association between socioeconomic vulnerability and change in pediatric firearm injuries before versus during the pandemic.

Methods: COronary BIfurcation Stenting III (COBIS III) is a multicenter, real-world registry of 2,648 patients with bifurcation lesions treated with second-generation drug-eluting stents. We compared the angiographic and procedural characteristics and clinical outcomes based on sex.
Background And Objectives: The Fractional Flow Reserve and Intravascular Ultrasound-Guided Intervention Strategy for Clinical Outcomes in Patients with Intermediate Stenosis (FLAVOUR) trial demonstrated non-inferiority of fractional flow reserve (FFR)-guided percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) compared with intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)-guided PCI. We sought to investigate the cost-effectiveness of FFR-guided PCI compared to IVUS-guided PCI in Korea.
Methods: A 2-part cost-effectiveness model, composed of a short-term decision tree model and a long-term Markov model, was developed for patients who underwent PCI to treat intermediate stenosis (40% to 70% stenosis by visual estimation on coronary angiography).
Aim: Pregnant women are at increased risk for severe illness associated with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) compared to nonpregnant women. The aim of this multicenter prospective study was to assess the current COVID-19 vaccination status of pregnant women in the southern Osaka district and to compare their antibody titers with those of nonpregnant women.
Methods: Serum antibody titers of anti-NCP antibodies (antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid) and anti-RBD antibodies (the receptor binding domain of the S1 subunit of the spike protein) were evaluated in 753 pregnant women at 34-35 weeks of gestation from October 2021 to March 2022.
Objectives: This study evaluated the prevalence, diameter and location of the mandibular incisive canal (MIC) and the transition pattern and anterior loop length (ALL) of the mental canal and compared these values between and mandibles.
Methods: A total of 187 cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images of mandibles, namely, 100 images of dentate mandibles and 87 images of edentulous mandibles, were obtained. CBCT data related to the incisive canal and mental canal were analyzed by one examiner.
Background: The fat attenuation index (FAI) measured using coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) enables the direct evaluation of pericoronary adipose tissue composition and vascular inflammation. We aimed to investigate the association of fractional flow reserve (FFR) and plaque vulnerability with coronary inflammation.
Methods: Patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD) who underwent CCTA and invasive FFR measurements within 90-day were included.

Recent studies have suggested a higher response rate with administration of timed-sequenced regimens (TSR) (purine analog, high-dose cytarabine, anthracycline) in high-risk acute myeloid leukemia patients. We retrospectively evaluated outcomes of newly diagnosed CML-MBP patients consecutively treated at our institution with a TSR or standard-dose cytarabine and an anthracycline ("7 + 3") combined with a tyrosine-kinase inhibitor (TKI) between 2011 and 2023.

While excessive FEC addition can intervene in original Li solvation, compromising interfacial kinetics, minimal FEC is essential in fast-charging applications to seamlessly facilitate Li desolvation while reinforcing interfacial stability.
