Background And Aims: Implementing diagnosis-related groups (DRGs) in different countries increases the efficiency of healthcare services, improves treatment quality, and reduces treatment costs. Due to the lack of a coherent model for its implementation, the present study aimed to develop a DRGs-based implementation action plan Model for Iran.
Methods: The present study was an applied, descriptive cross-sectional study conducted in three stages.

- The researchers reviewed literature up until January 2016, analyzing data from 54 relevant studies with over 23,000 participants to estimate the pooled prevalence of HCV infection in this population.
- The results indicated a high degree of variability in reported prevalence rates, but the random effect meta-analysis suggested a pooled infection rate of 11% among Iranian HD patients.
