Background: Apolipoprotein E (APOE) gene isoforms have been found to affect the risk of superficial fungal infections (SFIs). However, the data only cover a few ethnicities.
Aims: The present work intended to investigate the association of APOE gene polymorphism and serum lipids with the susceptibility of SFIs among a group of Egyptian patients.
Background: The search for objective factors that help in predicting the response of vitiligo treatment is very important.
Objective: We sought to evaluate the effect of NB-UVB phototherapy on both the alpha melanocyte stimulating hormone-microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (α-MSH-MIFT) axis, and isocitrate dehydrogenase 2 (IDH2) in non-segmental vitiligo (NSV).
Methods: This prospective clinical trial included 50 NSV patients and 50 healthy control subjects.
Background: Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is a prevalent condition with a complex etiopathogenesis. Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) gene located on the chromosome 17q23 contains an insertion (I) and deletion (D) polymorphism in the intron 16. This gene polymorphism plays a role in multiple inflammatory disorders.

So, this work aimed to assess and compare the expressions of miR-122 and miR-192 in two different types of toxic liver injury (intrinsic [acetaminophen] and idiosyncratic [diclofenac]). Forty male adult Wistar albino rats were divided into equal five groups, in which serum liver enzymes; microRNAs (miRNAs) expressions (miR-122 and miR-192) and histopathological findings were studied.

Telmisartan pre-treatment was used experimentally in the amelioration of ischemia/reperfusion (IR)-induced AKI. However, there is a lack of evidence regarding its beneficial effects on AKI in obese animals.
