Article Synopsis
  • Triple helical collagens are key structural proteins in vertebrates, used in applications like drug delivery and tissue engineering, where their mechanical and chemical properties are essential.
  • A new human type II procollagen expression system was developed using a fibrosarcoma cell line, enabling the production of full-length procollagen with a fluorescence-based gene expression screening method.
  • The integrity of the recombinant collagen was confirmed through multiple assays, establishing a foundation for future research on collagen manipulation and its potential therapeutic applications.
