Sorghum is a climate-resilient cereal and staple food crop for more than 200 million people in arid and semi-arid countries of Asia and Africa. Despite the economic importance, the productivity of sorghum in India is constrained by biotic and abiotic stresses such as incidences of shoot fly, grain mold and drought. Indian sorghum breeding focused on dual-purpose (grain and fodder), short-duration varieties with multiple resistance/tolerance to pests and diseases and improved nutritional quality (high protein, iron and zinc and low fat).

The fabrication with high energy density and superior electrical/electrochemical properties of hierarchical porous 3D cross-linked graphene-based supercapacitors is one of the most urgent challenges for developing high-power energy supplies. We facilely synthesized a simple, eco-friendly, cost-effective heteroatoms (nitrogen, phosphorus, and fluorine) co-doped graphene oxide (NPFG) reduced by hydrothermal functionalization and freeze-drying approach with high specific surface areas and hierarchical pore structures. The effect of different heteroatoms doping on the energy storage performance of the synthesized reduced graphene oxide is investigated extensively.

Background: The physical characteristics which are known to affect the ovarian reserve are age, body mass index (BMI), occupational exposures, age at menarche and menstrual cycle length. A correlation between different physical characteristics and the ovarian reserve will help to identify areas which need to be tackled to increase the chances of fertility of women in India.

Methods: In this retrospective, observational study, namely the MOTHER Study, data of women between 18 and 45 years of age, attending the selected fertility centers across different states in India were taken for evaluation.

Intermittent drought and an incidence of grain mold disease are the two major constraints affecting sorghum production and productivity. The study aimed at developing drought-tolerant sorghum varieties possessing a high protein content and tolerance to grain mold with stable performance using additive main effects and multiplicative interaction (AMMI) and genotype and genotype × environment interaction (GGE) biplot methods. Systematic hybridization among the 11 superior landraces resulted in subsequent pedigree-based breeding and selection from 2010 to 2015 evolved 19 promising varieties of grains such as white, yellow, and brown pericarp grains.

A novel sensitive and high throughput chiral hydrophilic interaction chromatographic (HILIC) method was developed to separate razoxane enantiomers namely levrazoxane (R-isomer) and dexrazoxane (DEX) in pharmaceutical active ingredient samples. A systematic chiral chromatographic screening system was employed in using multiple HPLC chromatographic modes on various polysaccharide based chiral columns to obtain a potential separation between enantiomers. HPLC separation was achieved using a mobile phase of aqueous 10 mM ammonium bicarbonate and mixture of organic modifiers (70/30, v/v) in the ratio of (5/95, v/v) on an immobilized polysaccharide based chiral stationary phase namely CHIRALPAK IE-3.

With increase in electric power demand, transmission lines were forced to operate close to its full load and due to the drastic change in weather conditions, thermal limit is increasing and the system is operating with less security margin. To meet the increased power demand, a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind generation system is a better alternative. For improving power flow capability and increasing security STATCOM can be adopted.

Cortical vein thrombosis (CVT) is rare and is most common in the third decade of life. Cerebral venous thrombosis may be due to a variety of pathologic conditions like deficiencies of protein S (PS), antithrombin III, protein C, factor V Leiden, prothrombin gene mutations and hyperhomocysteinemia. Protein S is a vitamin K-dependent anticoagulant present in plasma and prevent thrombosis in association with protein C.
