Background: Nursing- and healthcare-associated pneumonia (NHCAP) constitutes most of the pneumonia in elderly patients including aspiration pneumonia in Japan. Lascufloxacin (LSFX) possesses broad antibacterial activity against respiratory pathogens, such as Streptococcus spp. And anaerobes inside the oral cavity.

Genomic organization, alternative splicing, and multiple regulatory regions of the zebrafish fgf8 gene.

Fgf8 is among the members of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family that play pivotal roles in vertebrate development. In the present study, the genomic DNA of the zebrafish fgf8 gene was cloned to elucidate the regulatory mechanism behind the temporally and spatially restricted expression of the gene in vertebrate embryos. Structural analysis revealed that the exon-intron organization of fgf8 is highly conserved during vertebrate evolution, from teleosts to mammals.

Melting and stone production using MSW incinerated ash.

Most of the municipal solid waste (MSW) in Japan is incinerated and the generated ash is landfilled. However, environmental pollution problems have increased and Japan has decreased final disposal sites for landfills. With the application of a melting system, the volume of incinerated ash can be reduced and the effective use of melted slag is being developed for use in civil engineering works.

[The problem of a long-term follow up in patients with renal cell carcinoma].

Purpose: We investigated on a problem of long-term follow up in patients with renal cell carcinoma.

Patients And Methods: A total of 287 patients with renal cell carcinoma treated in Nara Medical University and affiliated facilities from January 1980 to December 1990 were examined. And we investigated the trend of explanation to patients including 287 patients from 1991 to 1995.
