Poly(-lysine)--poly(ethylene glycol)--poly(-lysine) (PLys--PEG--PLys) triblock copolymers formed polyion complex (PIC) with poly(acrylic acid) (PAAc) or sodium poly(styrenesulfonate) (PSS), leading to the formation of flower micelle-type nanoparticles (Nano or Nano) with tens of nanometers size in water at a polymer concentration of 10 mg/mL. The flower micelles exhibited irreversible temperature-driven sol-gel transitions at physiological ionic strength, even at low polymer concentrations such as 40 mg/mL, making them promising candidates for injectable hydrogel applications. Rheological studies showed that the chain length of PLys segments and the choice of polyanions significantly impacted irreversible hydrogel formation, with PSS being superior to PAAc for the formation.

Background: Myxoid liposarcoma, a rare type of tumor, accounts for approximately 30% of all liposarcomas. Myxoid liposarcomas harboring the FUS/CHOP fusion gene have shown promising results with trabectedin in basic research and some clinical experiments. However, the efficacy and safety of trabectedin in chemotherapy-naive soft tissue sarcomas or FUS/CHOP fusion gene-positive myxoid liposarcomas have not yet been established.

IGHV3-53/3-66-derived public antibodies, which are generally specific to the prototype virus and are frequently induced in infected or vaccinated individuals, show minimal affinity maturation and high potency against prototype SARS-CoV-2.
Methods: Monoclonal antibodies isolated from a Delta breakthrough infection case were analysed for cross-neutralising activities against SARS-CoV-2 variants.
This study introduces a novel pH-sensitive, hirudin-loaded antioxidant nanoparticle (HD@iNano) aimed at addressing the challenges of hirudin's short half-life and hemorrhagic transformation. HD@iNano was engineered to safeguard and prolong hirudin's bioactivity by encapsulating it within antioxidative nanoparticles, facilitating its gradual release in acidic environments. The efficacy of this approach was validated through both ex vivo and in vivo experiments.

In this study, we investigated the proteins involved in resistance to alectinib, a representative ALK inhibitor, through proteomic analysis and the possibility of overcoming resistance.
Methods: An ALK-positive lung adenocarcinoma cell line (ABC-11) and the corresponding alectinib-resistant cell line (ABC-11/CHR2) were used.

Background: In Japan, the supply of one generic meropenem product was restricted from August 2022 to March 2023.
Objective: To determine the effects of meropenem (MEPM) restriction.
Methods: We conducted a multicenter retrospective study comparing antimicrobial use, bacteremia mortality, and drug-resistant bacteria detected before the restriction of MEPM (control period), from September 2021 to February 2022, and after the restriction of MEPM (MEPM supply restriction period), from September 2022 to February 2023, in five institutions.
α-Mangostin-rich extract (AME) shows promise as a functional ingredient for cancer chemotherapy. Here, we encapsulated AME in our originally designed antioxidant nanoparticles (Nano) to increase its solubility and prevent oxidative degradation (AME@Nano). In this study, two types of self-assembled polymers containing nitroxide radicals were engineered.

This study demonstrates that the voltage-dependent migration of a carrier recombination zone induced by a polar electron transporting layer (ETL) having a positive SOP causes a decline in the overall performance of the OLED in triplet-triplet upconversion (TTU) based on OLEDs. Specifically, the TTU efficiency in an OLED with 2,2',2″-(1,3,5-benzinetriyl)-tris(1-phenyl-1-H-benzimidazole) (TPBi) as the ETL decreased by 20% due to the reduction of electrically generated triplet exciton density.

Small-molecule antioxidants have not been approved for antioxidant chemotherapy because of severe adverse effects that collapse redox homeostasis, even in healthy tissues. To overcome these disadvantages, we have been developing poly(ethylene glycol)-block-poly(cysteine) (PEG-block-PCys)-based self-assembling polymer nanoparticles (Nanoes), releasing Cys after in vivo degradation by endogenous enzymes, to obtain antioxidant effects without adverse effects.

The 2021 World Health Organization (WHO) classification system for thoracic tumors (including lung cancer) contains several updates to the 2015 edition. Revisions for lung cancer include a new grading system for invasive nonmucinous adenocarcinoma that better reflects prognosis, reorganization of squamous cell carcinomas and neuroendocrine neoplasms, and description of some new entities. Moreover, remarkable advancements in our knowledge of genetic mutations and targeted therapies have led to a much greater emphasis on genetic testing than that in 2015.

The primary outcome of this study was to determine whether the final explainer's occupation was a risk factor for non-adherence. The secondary outcomes were to determine the risk factors for non-adherence after limiting the departments or adjusting for age.

As booster vaccinations continue, it is important to understand the antibody dynamics elicited by booster vaccination in order to evaluate and develop vaccination needs and strategies. Here, we investigated longitudinal data by monitoring IgG antibodies against the receptor binding domain (RBD) in health care workers.

The assessment of patient characteristics and the methods of survival prediction among PHMs in the EOL stage are warranted.
Objectives: This study aimed to identify the current medical status and the method of survival prediction among PHMs treated at the PCU.
Excess reactive oxygen species (ROS) produced during strong or unfamiliar exercise cause exercise-induced gastrointestinal syndrome (EIGS), leading to poor health and decreased exercise performance. The application of conventional antioxidants can neither ameliorate EIGS nor improve exercise performance because of their rapid elimination and severe side effects on the mitochondria. Hence, a self-assembling nanoparticle-type antioxidant (RNP ) that is selectively located in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract for an extended time after oral administration is developed.

Clinical studies in Orn therapy have focused on interventions for hyperammonemia-associated diseases, such as hepatic encephalopathy (HE), a life-threatening neurological symptom affecting more than 80% of patients with liver cirrhosis. However, its low molecular weight (LMW) causes Orn to diffuse nonspecifically and be rapidly eliminated from the body after oral administration, resulting in unfavorable therapeutic efficacy.

We have developed redox nanoparticles to eliminate reactive oxygen species. In this study, we tested the protective efficacy of these redox nanoparticles in cell culture and a mouse model of ischemic stroke.
