The Use of Hindfoot Nails for Elderly Complex Distal Tibial and Ankle Fractures.

Elderly patients who sustain complex ankle or distal tibial fractures are often frail and comorbid and need surgery to contain the talus underneath the tibia in order to protect the soft tissue envelope and allow early unrestricted weightbearing. We performed a retrospective observational review of patients >65 years old who underwent a hindfoot nail fixation of an ankle or distal tibial fracture in our institution. Data collected included: injury sustained, open or closed injury, ASA grade, age at time of surgery, length of stay, postoperative mortality, complications, and further treatment.

Case Report of a Distal Phalanx Interosseous Epidermoid Inclusion Cyst Presenting as an Enchondroma.

Introduction: Lesions in the distal phalanx can be attributed to a broad range of pathologies. Benign lesions such as enchondromas are common; however, there are a range of conditions that can mimic tumors on both clinical presentation and imaging.

Case Report: Here, we report a case of a 42-year-old man who presented with pain and swelling in the distal phalanx of his right ring finger following trauma.

Unusual multiloculated serpiginous ganglion of the foot.

Ganglions are cystic lesion more commonly seen around the wrist joint. Gangliomas of plantar aspect of the foot are rare. We have presented a case of an unusual serpiginous ganglioma of the plantar aspect of the foot.

Unusual Presentation of Mycetoma of the Foot: A Rare Case Report.

Introduction: Mycetoma is a chronic granulomatous infection. It is caused by actinomycetes or fungi. It is common in tropical countries and males.

Functional Outcome Following Arthroscopic ACL Reconstruction with Rigid Fix: A Retrospective Observational Study.

Introduction: Ewing's sarcomas is a rare primitive neuroectodermal tumour (PNET) which has an annual incidence of 2.9 /million population in USA 1Jeffery Toretsky et al (2008) They are very uncommon in African and Asian population. It is commonly associated with reciprocal translocation between chromosome 11 and 12 t (11:12) or less frequently the t(21;22)(q22;ql 2) translocation.

Ipsilateral Floating Hip and Floating Knee - A Rare Entity.

Introduction: Ipsilateral floating hip and floating knee are very rare injuries. These injuries so uncommon that only three cases of similar kind have been reported. These injuries are due to high velocity injuries following motor vehicle accidents.

Bilateral Traumatic Anterior Dislocation of Shoulder - A Rare Entity.

Introduction: Bilateral shoulder dislocation are most commonly posterior type. These are most commonly due to seizure disorder and electrocution. Anterior shoulder dislocations occurring bilaterally without any predisposing factors are very rare.
