Background And Purpose: Healthy lifestyle behaviour modification may improve health outcomes in people with multiple sclerosis (pwMS), but empirical evidence is needed to confirm prior study findings. We developed an online multimodal lifestyle intervention (Multiple Sclerosis Online Course) to examine the impact of lifestyle modification on health outcomes in pwMS via a randomized control trial (RCT). However, the present study specifically analyses baseline data to assess engagement with healthy lifestyles by RCT participants and cross-sectional associations with health outcomes.

This metallo-protease had no discernible impact on normal cell survival, but it specifically induced apoptosis in ovarian cancer cells. PAR-1, a GPCR which is reported to be overexpressed in ovarian cancer cells, was identified as a target of Peptidase M84.

In recent years, wearable male sex devices (WMSDs) have been increasingly utilized by patients and recommended by sexual medicine clinicians.
Objectives: This study seeks to investigate the safety and efficacy of products currently marketed for the treatment of MSD.
Background: Fatigue and disability are indicators of disease progression experienced by many people with multiple sclerosis (pwMS). Understanding trajectories of these outcomes, and their predictors, may provide insight to potential interventions for MS management.
Methods: Survey data from 839 pwMS from the Health Outcomes and Lifestyle in pwMS study were analysed.
In recent years, it has been shown that the liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) of virus proteins plays a crucial role in their life cycle. It promotes the formation of viral replication organelles, concentrating viral components for efficient replication and facilitates the assembly of viral particles. LLPS has emerged as a crucial process in the replication and assembly of herpes simplex virus-1 (HSV-1).

Methods: 948 participants were queried whether they had experienced any of the 16 SLEs (Holmes-Rahe Social Readjustment Rating Scale) in the preceding 12 months.
Background And Purpose: Modifiable lifestyle factors, including diet, have been implicated in multiple sclerosis (MS) progression, but prospective evidence is limited. The aim of this study was to examine prospective relationships between quality of diet and subsequent disability over 7.5 years in an international cohort of people living with MS (pwMS).

As the internet has made delivery of lifestyle information increasingly accessible and cost-effective, we designed the Multiple Sclerosis Online Course (MSOC) to deliver a multimodal lifestyle modification program for plwMS. Two MS online courses were developed: the intervention course based on lifestyle recommendations of the Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis (OMS) program and the standard-care course representing standard lifestyle recommendations from other MS websites.

Engagement with healthy lifestyle behaviours, including consuming a healthy diet, regular physical activity, and adequate vitamin D exposure, is associated with higher QoL. We aim to assess whether individual lifestyle behaviours are more beneficial to QoL than others, and whether there are additive benefits to QoL by engaging in multiple healthy behaviours concurrently.

However, adhering to a MS-specific or high-quality diet may be a challenge. We therefore assessed the level of diet-adherence necessary to improve health outcomes of depression, fatigue, and disability.

This research assessed associations of diet with subsequent HSU in a large international cohort of people living with multiple sclerosis (MS), a progressive autoimmune condition of the central nervous system.
Methods: HSUs were generated from responses to Short-Form Six-Dimension (SF-6D) MAUI, and quality-of-the-diet by Diet Habits Questionnaire (DHQ).
The glutathione (GSH) and thioredoxin (Trx) systems regulate cellular redox homeostasis and maintain antioxidant defense in most eukaryotes. We earlier reported the absence of gene coding for the glutathione reductase (GR) enzyme of the GSH system in the facultative air-breathing catfish, Clarias magur. Here, we identified three thioredoxin reductase (TrxR) genes, one of which was later confirmed as a thioredoxin glutathione reductase (TGR).

Based on an existing lifestyle modification program offered as a residential workshop, the MS Online Course (MSOC) was developed to translate the workshop into an online intervention. We performed a pilot randomized controlled trial (RCT), to assess the feasibility concepts of accessibility, learnability and desirability through quantitative and qualitative analyzes.

The aim of this study was to validate the psychometric properties (construct validity and internal consistency) of the Dietary Habits Questionnaire (DHQ) against repeated online 24-h recall dietary assessments. The DHQ is a 24-item tool that is scored using ten dietary sub-scores.

Methods: The MSOC was developed in two arms: intervention arm which contained evidence-based lifestyle modification recommendations, and standard-care arm which delivered information from MS websites reflecting standard advice. Participants were recruited via online advertisements, completed a baseline questionnaire, and randomised.
Background And Objectives: Certain demographic and clinical characteristics, including the use of some disease-modifying therapies (DMTs), are associated with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection severity in people with multiple sclerosis (MS). Comprehensive exploration of these relationships in large international samples is needed.
Methods: Clinician-reported demographic/clinical data from 27 countries were aggregated into a data set of 5,648 patients with suspected/confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Introduction: Mindfulness-based interventions are associated with improved health and wellbeing. Online mindfulness interventions offer potential scalability and cost advantages over face-to-face interventions. However, little is known about the experiences of learners, what they identify as being helpful to developing a practice of mindfulness and what outcomes they experience from undertaking an online mindfulness program.

The nucleocytoplasmic transport (NCT) is impaired in C9-ALS/FTLD, a common genetically caused form of ALS and FTLD. The NCT is regulated by proteins called FG-nucleoporins (FG-Nups), with domains enriched in phenylalanine-glycine repeats. However, the relationship between FG-Nups and TDP-43, an RBP found to be mislocalized in ALS/FTLD patients, has not been defined.

An emerging pathophysiology associated with the neurodegenerative Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the impairment of nucleocytoplasmic transport (NCT). The impairment can originate from damage to the nuclear pore complex (NPC) or other factors involved in NCT. The phenylalanine-glycine nucleoporins (FG-Nups) form a crucial component of the NPC, which is central to NCT.

Results: Among 5,568 patients (83.4% confirmed COVID-19), interferon-treated patients had lower risk of severe COVID-19 compared to untreated, but not to glatiramer-acetate, dimethyl-fumarate, or pooled other DMTs.
Background: Modifiable lifestyle factors are important to aid people with multiple sclerosis in the self-management of their disease. Current self-management programs are limited by their face-to-face mode of delivery but there is immense potential with the internet to deliver these programs effectively.
Objective: The aims of this study are to assess the feasibility of a digitalized educational lifestyle self-management program for people with MS.
Background: Multiple sclerosis is a demyelinating autoimmune disease, presenting with heterogenous symptoms that impact daily living. Undertaking stress-reducing activities may reduce symptoms including depression and fatigue, and enhance mastery, the sense of control of one's life. We assessed cross-sectional associations of undertaking stress-reducing activities or meditation on depression, fatigue, and mastery, and 5-year prospective relationships between meditation and these outcomes.

These protein aggregates are essentially formed by the interactions of either the same (homologous) or different (heterologous) sequences.
