Update on Pediatric Acute Kidney Injury.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is common in children and is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. In the last decade our understanding of AKI has improved significantly, and it is now considered a systemic disorder that affects other organs including heart, lung, and brain. In spite of its limitations, serum creatinine remains the mainstay in the diagnosis of AKI.
