Subnational certification of elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV and/or syphilis: a Brazilian experience report.

Objective: to describe the subnational implementation process of the certification for elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV and/or syphilis, its main barriers, challenges and opportunities.

Methods: in 2022, indicators from the last full year for impact targets and the last two full years for process targets, available in national information systems, were evaluated; descriptive reports were analyzed and actions were acknowledged within four thematic axes, according to PAHO/WHO recommendations.

Results: 43 municipalities ≥ 100,000 inhabitants were certified, covering 24.

These concepts are an integral part of the recommendations of the Clinical Protocol and Therapeutic Guidelines for Comprehensive Care for People with Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI), published by the Ministry of Health of Brazil in 2020. The article proposes a comprehensive approach to sexuality for health promotion.

Nurse managers in the Unified Health System: profile and prospects with emphasis on the 2017-2020 Management Cycle.

This paper aims to analyze the profile and perceptions of the municipal health secretaries on the agendas and challenges for the SUS in the 2017-2020 cycle, with emphasis on the participation of nurses in management. The data were collected through an online electronic questionnaire, containing closed-ended questions, answered by municipal managers, within the National Survey of Municipal Health Secretaries, a national study carried out in 26 states in 2017 and 2018. We could understand to what extent nurse managers perceive the main challenges, the performance of strategic actors, the dynamics of interagency spaces, and federative agendas necessary to strengthen SUS management in the management process.
