The Stigma of Occupational Stress Scale for Doctors (SOSS-D) is a brief standardized tool designed to measure stigma (personal, perceived other, and perceived structural) in physicians. Society is changing and students' career choices have evolved compared to those of previous generations. This observation motivated a survey of Master's students at the Faculty of Medicine in Geneva. The results reveal that among the respondents (108 students), 85% consider working part-time to take care of their family and 56% feel they have to choose between an ideal career and a family life.

Context: In the clinical environment, health care professionals self-categorise into different groups towards which they develop positive attitudes, whereas they view other groups less favourably. Social identity theory purports that these attitudes influence group processes and may foster conflicts that impede collaborative practice, although this relationship is poorly understood. This study used concepts from social identity theory to examine the interplay between group processes and conflicts, as well as the consequences of these conflicts, with the goal of identifying educational strategies to favour teamwork.

Background: The Narrative Letter of Recommendation is a frequently used tool in the residency admissions process even though it has poor interrater reliability, lacks pertinent content, and does not correlate with residency performance. A newer tool, the Standardized Letter, has shown validity evidence for content and interrater reliability in other specialties.
