Lobular capillary hemangiomas (LCHs) are a common form of benign vascular tumors originating from the skin and subcutaneous tissues. We have described the case of a 47-year-old man who had presented with a 1-month history of a tender swelling to the right temporal region. Biopsy was performed to rule out temporal arteritis and demonstrated a subset of LCH, now formally known as intravascular LCH.

This has been exacerbated with the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic. The use of digital pathology and whole slide imaging (WSI) as an educational tool for distance teaching is underutilised and not fully exploited.
