Objective: The emergence of bacteriophage-encoded endolysins hold significant promise as novel antibacterial agents, particularly against the growing threat of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Therefore, we investigated the phage ФEcSw endolysin to enhance the lytic activity against multi-drug-resistant Escherichia coli Sw1 through site-directed mutagenesis (SDM) guided by in silico identification of critical residues.
Methods: A computational analysis was conducted to elucidate the protein folding pattern, identify the active domains, and recognize critical residues of ФEcSw endolysin.
Background: Simulated Physiological Oocyte Maturation (SPOM) mimics the physiological events of oocyte maturation in the presence of cAMP modulators. These modulators increase the intracellular concentrations of cAMP, which inhibits the immediate resumption of meiosis and gives the oocyte more time to gain optimal developmental competence. In addition, L-carnitine helps to increase the energy supply of cells through the β-oxidation of fatty acids.

Here, we introduce the integration of partially reduced graphene oxide (PrGO) nanosheets into the shell of aphron microbubbles (AMBS) to enhance the stability and size distribution, particularly for drilling fluid applications and carbon geological storage. The amphiphilic characteristic of PrGO nanosheets, due to meticulous control of the reduction process of graphene oxide, facilitates their spontaneous adsorption at interfaces, thereby reducing the interfacial energy as a two-dimensional surfactant.

However, its low workability and sensitivity to curing conditions pose significant challenges for its implementation in such projects. This study introduces a novel technique to overcome the workability barrier of HSC while enhancing its bonding strength under various curing conditions.

Therefore, examining their antecedents is essential for effective therapeutic interventions. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between self-compassion, mindfulness, striving to compensate for inferiority, and readiness to change in individuals with substance abuse.

Tranexamic acid (TXA), an antifibrinolytic agent, is hypothesized to reduce intraoperative bleeding. This double-blinded, randomized clinical trial aimed to assess the efficacy of systemic TXA in severe burn patients (total body surface area [TBSA] > 20 %) undergoing surgery.

A total of 5,920 CHB patients were classified into four groups based on HBV seromarkers: three-generation families (CHB grandmother, mother, and child), two-generation families (CHB mother/child pairs), individuals recovered from HBV infection, and a control group. Serological markers, viral load, liver function tests (LFT), HBV mutations, HLA-DQ variations, cytokine polymorphisms, and liver stiffness measurements (LSM) were analyzed using FibroScan.

In this study, dry sugar beet pomace, sugar beet pomace, sugar beet molasses, leaves and plant residues of sugar beet and sugarcane bagasse were investigated. The inorganic materials were identified by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), thermal characteristics were determined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and morphological characteristics were determined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

The K+/cl- cotransporter 2 (KCC2) is instrumental in this process, and its dysregulation is implicated in various neurological disorders. This study utilized zebrafish () to investigate the socio-cognitive consequences of KCC2 disruption.

This study was conducted with the aim of investigating the performance of the family physician referral system before and during COVID-19 in Golestan province.
Methods: The present repeated cross-sectional study was conducted on secondary data Recorded of 786,603 cases referred and cared by family physicians (including information on physicians' and midwives' visits, percentage of prescriptions and other information) in Golestan province from 2017 to 2022 in a census and retrospective manner.
The oil obtained from black cumin (Nigella sativa) seeds has many health-effective properties, which is used in food applications and in traditional medicine. One practical method to extract its oil is mixing with other seeds such as sunflower (Helianthus anuus) seeds before oil extraction by press. The effectiveness of the cold-press oil obtained from the mixture of black cumin seeds (BS) and sunflower seeds (SF) in different proportions 100:0, 95:5, 90:10, 85:15 and 0:100 (w/w) was studied to evaluate their qualitative properties including peroxide value (PV), acid value, p-anisidine value (AnV), pigments (carotenoid and chlorophyll) content, polyphenols, and profile of fatty acids during heating process (30-150 min at 180 °C).

Since cellulose derivatives are inherently hydrophilic substances, they require dissolution in oil through an emulsion-coating method. Therefore, we developed a hybrid oleogel utilizing MAGs and MC.

Each patient was assigned an electronic code by which the patient's information could be identified. Subsequently, standard questionnaires were used, such as International physical activity questionnaire (IPAQ) to assess physical activity, MAC NEW to assess the quality of life, Spielberg to measure anxiety, Beck to assess depression, and nutritional questionnaires.
