Inappropriate antibiotic use may lead to increased adverse drug events (ADEs). This study assessed whether an antimicrobial stewardship recommendation to discontinue antibiotics in patients with low likelihood for bacterial infection reduced antibiotic duration and antibiotic-associated ADEs.
