Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most prevalent sustained arrhythmia worldwide and it aggravates cardiovascular morbidity and mortality; however, this is largely under-diagnosed. Moreover, among end-stage renal disease patients on haemodialysis, AF is substantially more common and serious.
