Characteristics of Pediatric and Medically Compromised Patients Treated under General Anesthesia in a Middle Eastern Country.

Aim: This study aims to describe dental treatment provided to healthy and medically compromised patients treated under general anesthesia (GA) over a four-year period.

Materials And Methods: A total of 97 patients who received dental treatment under GA at the Saint Joseph University, Lebanon, from 2016 to 2019 were included in the study. The study population was analyzed according to the patient's age, medical status, and type of treatment done accordingly.

Shaping ability of a new heat-treated NiTi system in continuous rotation or reciprocation in artificial curved canals.

The purpose is to evaluate canal transportation of a new heat-treated NiTi system, the Endostar E3 Azure operated in continuous rotation or reciprocation. 40 resin blocks were divided into two groups. The first was shaped in continuous rotation while the second in reciprocation.

Prevalence of Hypodontia and Supernumerary Teeth in Patients Attending Private Pediatric Dental Clinic in Lebanon.

Because of the high rate of agenesis and supernumerary teeth in orthodontic patients and the lack of studies in Lebanon that document the prevalence of those anomalies, the aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of hypodontia and supernumerary teeth in patients attending a pediatric dental office and examine the associated factors. This was a cross-sectional design study. The patients were clinically examined followed by panoramic radiograph.

Despite increased attention on assessment and management, pain remains the most persistent symptom in patients with cancer, in particular in end-of-life settings, with detrimental impact on their quality-of-life (QOL). We conducted this study to evaluate the added value of determining some genetic and non-genetic factors to optimize cancer pain treatment. Eighty-nine patients were included in the study for the evaluation of palliative cancer pain management.

Comparative Assessment of Off-label and Unlicensed Drug Prescriptions in Children: FDA Versus ANSM Guidelines.

Purpose: The main objectives of this study were to assess the incidence of off-label (OL) and/or unlicensed (UL) prescriptions in a sample of pediatric Lebanese patients by using US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the French Medical Regulatory Authority (ANSM) regulations. The goal was to analyze the divergences between regulations and to identify those drugs most commonly involved in OL-UL utilization.

Methods: This study was a retrospective analysis (500 pediatric files) conducted in a Lebanese University hospital in 3 pediatric wards (chronic diseases, acute diseases, and the pediatric intensive care unit).

Dentinal crack formation during root canal preparations by the twisted file adaptive, Reciproc and WaveOne instruments.

Objective: This study aimed to compare the frequency of dentinal microcracks after root canal shaping with 2 reciprocating (Reciproc and WaveOne) and 1 combined continuous reciprocating motion twisted files adaptive (TFA) rotary system.

Materials And Methods: Ninety molars were chosen and divided into three groups of 30 each. Root canal preparation was achieved by using Reciproc R25, Primary WaveOne and TFA systems.
