Epigenetics governs a chromatin state regulatory system through five key mechanisms: DNA modification, histone modification, RNA modification, chromatin remodeling, and non-coding RNA regulation. These mechanisms and their associated enzymes convey genetic information independently of DNA base sequences, playing essential roles in organismal development and homeostasis. Conversely, disruptions in epigenetic landscapes critically influence the pathogenesis of various human diseases.

From 2003 to 2020, this research comprehensively analyzes desertification vulnerability, integrating parameters such as NDVI, LST, TVDI, MSAVI, and Albedo. Key factors contributing to land degradation are identified, along with the spatial patterns and trends of desertification over the two-decade period.

Based on first-principles calculations, this work explored the adsorption characteristics of both intrinsic and silver (Ag) doped tin disulfide (SnS) toward the decomposition components of the insulating medium CFN (namely, CF, CF, and COF), encompassing the adsorption energy, charge transfer, density of state (DOS), band structure, and adsorption stability. The results indicated that Ag-doped SnS exhibited an effective and stable adsorption for CF and COF, whereas its adsorption for CF was comparatively weaker.

In the endometrium, local hypoxic conditions induced by hormonal fluctuations and endometrial vascular remodeling contribute to the production of HIF-1α, which plays an indispensable role in a series of physiological activities, such as menstruation and metamorphosis. The sensitive regulation of HIF-1α maintains the cellular viability and regenerative capacity of the endometrium against cellular stresses induced by hypoxia and excess reactive oxygen species.

In this work, general geopolymers, porous geopolymers and geopolymer microspheres were prepared by the suspension curing method using three solid waste products, coal gangue, fly ash and blast furnace slag. The microstructure, morphology and surface functional groups of the geopolymers were studied by SEM, XRD, XRF, MIP, FTIR and XPS.

This provides the potential for wound healing during endometrial injuries. Bioengineering materials highlight the faithful replication of constitutive cells and the extracellular matrix that simulates the physical and biomechanical properties of the endometrium to a larger extent.

The development of high-efficiency silicon/graphene anodes through a simple and cost-effective preparation route is significant. Herein, by using micron silicon as raw material, we designed a mesoporous composite of silicon/alumina/reduced graphene oxide (Si/AlO/RGO) a two-step ball milling combined annealing process.

However, eliminating the membrane/separator would expose the membrane-free RFBs to a higher risk of short-circuits, and the dendrite growth may aggravate this issue. The current strategy based on expanding distances between electrodes is proposed to address short-circuit issues.

Thus, this paper uses a plastic deformation (PD) method based on concrete plasticity theory (CPT) for comparative analysis of multi-storey reinforcement cement concrete (RCC) and composite buildings under common and rare earthquake loads. For this purpose, a 15-storey tall building was selected for analysis using ABAQUS software.

Purpose: This study aims to create and validate a clinical model that predict the probability of fertilization failure in routine fertilization (IVF) cycles.
Methods: This study employed a retrospective methodology, gathering data from 1770 couples that used reproductive center's of the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University standard IVF fertilization between June 2015 and June 2023. 1062 were in the training set and 708 were in the validation set when it was randomly split into the training set and validation set in a 6:4 ratio.
Background: Since the Z0011 trial, the assessment of axillary lymph node status has been redirected from the previous assessment of the occurrence of lymph node metastasis alone to the assessment of the degree of lymph node loading. Our aim was to apply preoperative breast ultrasound and clinicopathological features to predict the diagnostic value of axillary lymph node load in early invasive breast cancer.
Methods: The 1247 lesions were divided into a high lymph node burden group and a limited lymph node burden group according to axillary lymph node status.
In the development of nanomaterial electrodes for improved electrocatalytic activity, much attention is paid to the compositions, lattice, and surface morphologies. In this study, a new concept to enhance electrocatalytic activity is proposed by reducing impedance inside nanomaterial electrodes. Gold nanodendrites (AuNDs) are grown along silver nanowires (AgNWs) on flexible polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) support.

The use of menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) has declined due to concerns about its potential side effects. However, its pivotal role in managing postmenopausal osteoporosis is gaining increased recognition. In this article, we explore how MHT assists postmenopausal women in maintaining bone health and preventing fractures.

However, how to boost the self-heating-induced healing of Li-dendrites and incorporate it into Li-host design remains an imminent problem that needs to be solved. Herein, a new bismuth nanosphere semi-buried carbon cloth (Bi-NS-CC) material with a 3D flexible host structure is proposed.

In order to improve the safety and quality of lactose-free milk (LFM) Maillard reaction products (MRPs), this study used raw cow's milk as raw material and lactase hydrolysis to prepare LFM, which was heat-treated using pasteurization and then placed in storage temperatures of 4 °C, 25 °C and 37 °C to investigate the changes in the Maillard reaction (MR). The results of the orthogonal test showed that the optimal conditions for the hydrolysis of LFM are as follows: the hydrolysis temperature was 38 °C, the addition of lactase was 0.03%, and the hydrolysis time was 2.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLong non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play an essential part in controlling gene expression and a variety of biological processes such as immune defense and stress-response. However, whether and how lncRNAs regulate responses of larvae to invasion has remained unclear until now. Here, the identification and structural analysis of lncRNAs in the guts of worker larvae were conducted, and the expression profile of larval lncRNAs during the infection process was then analyzed, followed by an investigation of the regulatory roles of differentially expressed lncRNAs (DElncRNAs) in the host response.
