Herein, a living drug sprinkle biohybrid (YB1-HCNs) was constructed by hitching acid/enzyme-triggered detachable nanoparticles (HCNs) backpack on the surface of metabolic oligosaccharide-engineered oncolytic bacteria YB1. Along with the process of tumor penetration by bacterial hypoxia navigation, YB1-HCNs responsively and continuously release HCNs, achieving a uniform distribution of loaded agents throughout the tumor.

Herein, the Fe 3 and O 2 orbital hybridization was optimized by controlling the content of amorphous NiFe(OH) (a-NiFe(OH)), which was grown in situ on crystalline NiFeO (c-NiFeO) using an ultrasonic reduction method. The results of electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) and X-ray absorption spectra (XAS) revealed that the Fe-O orbital hybridization in a-NiFe(OH) is effectively strengthened by jointing with the adjacent oxygen (O) in c-NiFeO, which is further confirmed by the higher antibonding orbital energies based on density functional theory (DFT) calculations.

Objective: This study analyzed the causes of sphenoid sinus (SS) infection (SSI) following endoscopic transsphenoidal skull base surgery and determined appropriate treatment methods.
Methods: This study included 31 cases of secondary SSI following the endoscopic transsphenoidal approach (ETSA; SSI group) and 246 cases without SSI (non-SSI group). Data collected included post-ETSA pathological results, types of artificial skull base reconstruction materials, and SS patency.

Background: Sinonasal inverted papilloma (SNIP) is a benign epithelial tumor with distinctive histopathological features. However, the role of inflammation in SNIP remains poorly characterized.
Objectives: This study aimed to compare the histopathological patterns and inflammatory characteristics of SNIP with those of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNPs) or normal ethmoid sinus mucosa.
To improve the low energy density, low conductivity, and poor cycling stability of NiCoS in supercapacitors, a two-step hydrothermal method was used to prepare a composite material of NiCoS and carbon nanosheets (NiCoS/CNs). The electrochemical tests revealed a high specific capacitance of 1576 F g at 1 A/g for the composite, and the NiCoS/CNs//AC asymmetric supercapacitor showed a energy density of 49.7 Wh kg at 818 W kg.

In this study, an amphiphilic polymer (Bio-HA(TPE-CN)-mPEG) was designed and synthesized, which was fabricated by introducing hydrophobic aggregation-induced emission (AIE) fluorophore, acid-labile imine bond, methoxy poly (ethylene glycol) (mPEG) and tumor targeting ligand biotin to the backbone of hyaluronic acid. The polymer could self-assemble into micelles and solubilize hydrophobic anticancer drugs. In vitro drug release study indicated that the micelles could disassemble rapidly under acidic environment.

Aorta tissues from apolipoprotein E-deficient (ApoE KO) mice fed a high-fat diet (HFD), treated with or without 100 mg/kg/day quercetin, were analyzed for histopathological changes and molecular mechanisms. Quercetin was found to decrease the size of atherosclerotic lesions and mitigate lipid accumulation induced by HFD.

Background: Excessive alcohol consumption has a multifaceted impact on the body's metabolic pathways and organ systems. The objectives of this study were to characterize global metabolomic changes and identify specific pathways that are altered in individuals with excessive alcohol use.
Methods: This exploratory study included 22 healthy controls with no known history of excessive alcohol use and 38 patients identified as using alcohol excessively.
Background: There is increasing evidence suggesting that serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL) levels can be used as biomarkers for axonal injury. Retinol is recognized for its significant involvement in nervous system function, but the precise connection between dietary retinol and sNfL levels remains uncertain.
Objective: Our objective was to investigate the relationship between dietary retinol intake and sNfL, and to find an optimal retinol intake level for neurological health.
