The problem of rapid degradation of the operating voltage and discharge specific capacity of lithium-rich layered oxide (LRMs) cathode materials is a major constraint for their commercial application. In this paper, CoS coating with a 3D layered structure assisted by PVP is used to enhance the cycle life and rate performance of the LRMs material. The introduction of PVP has the following effects: (1) it reduces the solubility of CoS in the electrolyte solution and forms a stable CoS coating, and (2) it acts as a nitrogen-containing carbon matrix material and the heteroatomic dopant, and can provide more active sites to improve the conductivity of CoS.

Background: It is presently considered that Corynebacterium especially Corynebacterium kroppenstedtii (CK) infection, is one of the important causes of granulomatous lobular mastitis (GLM). However, the pathogen of mastitis in the past two years has been identified as a newly discovered Corynebacterium. But it is unclear whether the pathogen associated with the occurrence of GLM is also this bacterium.

expression defines a rare population of cells in the normal pancreas whose frequency is increased at early stages of pancreatic tumorigenesis. The identity and the precise roles of expressing cells in pancreas have been matter of debate, although evidence suggests their involvement in a number of key functions, including regeneration and neoplasia. We employed a recently developed Dclk1 reporter mouse model and single cell RNAseq analysis to define expressing cells in normal pancreas and pancreatic neoplasia.

In this research, we used sum frequency generation vibrational spectroscopy to investigate the buried interface of a thiol-epoxy model aerospace sealant in contact with a silane-based adhesion promoter (6111) following exposures to 3% saltwater at elevated temperatures and elevated temperatures alone. The results suggest that the saltwater caused a change at the interface between the adhesion promoter and sealant, while an elevated temperature of 60 °C itself did not affect the interfacial structure noticeably. Model hydrolyzed and nonhydrolyzed silanes were also used in the study to compare with the adhesion promoter 6111 to understand the interfacial behavior of main silane components in 6111 as well as their potential role in adhesion.

Background & Aims: The intestinal epithelium functions both in nutrient absorption and as a barrier, separating the luminal contents from a network of vascular, fibroblastic, and immune cells underneath. After injury to the intestine, multiple cell populations cooperate to drive regeneration of the mucosal barrier, including lymphatic endothelial cells (LECs). A population of granulocytic immature myeloid cells (IMCs), marked by Hdc, participate in regeneration of multiple organs such as the colon and central nervous system, and their contribution to intestinal regeneration was investigated.

Article Synopsis
  • Scientists found that special cells in the pancreas, called Tff2 cells, can help repair damage and keep the pancreas healthy.
  • When the pancreas gets hurt, these Tff2 cells can reduce in number but can grow back later.
  • If Tff2 cells are removed before cancer starts, it makes it easier for tumors to form, but adding Tff2 back can help protect against this cancer.

Purpose: Laparotomic or hysteroscopic myomectomy, and high-intensity focussed ultrasound (HIFU), can be used in the treatment of Type 2 myomas with a > 50% intramural component. Hysteroscopic electroresection may damage the remaining endometrium and complete ablation of myomas may not be realised via HIFU treatment. We report and examine the results of 1 case of HIFU treatment, accompanied with the hysteroscopy endo-operative system (HEOS) cold device procedure.

The scarcity of high electrocatalysis composite electrode materials has long been suppressing the redox reaction of V(II)/V(III) and V(IV)/V(V) couples in high performance vanadium redox flow batteries (VRFBs). Herein, through ingeniously regulating the growth of Aspergillus Niger, a wrinkle-like carbon (WLC) material that possesses edge-rich carbon, abundant heteroatoms, and nature wrinkle-like structure is obtained, which is subsequently successfully introduced and uniform dispersed on the surface of carbon fiber of graphite felt (GF). This composite electrode presents a lower overpotential and higher charge transfer ability, as the codoped multiheteroatoms increase the electrocatalysis activity and the wrinkled structure affords more abundant reaction area for vanadium ions in the electrolyte when compared with the pristine GF electrode, which is also supported by the density functional theory (DFT) calculations.
