The new method presented in this article achieved the goal of capturing Salmonella typhimurium via immunoreaction and rapid in situ detection of the CdSe/ZnS quantum dots (QDs) labeled S. typhimurium by self-assembly light-emitting diode-induced fluorescence detection (LIF) microsystem on a specially designed multichannel microfluidic chip. CdSe/ZnS QDs were used as fluorescent markers improving detection sensitivity.

Article Synopsis
  • A homemade micro-spectrometer was created to measure sorbic acid levels in food using photometric techniques.
  • The standard addition method helped to reduce interference from other food components during analysis.
  • Results showed a strong correlation for sorbic acid detection (0-10.0 mg/L), with high accuracy (99.2%-99.5% recovery) and low variability (0.58% RSD), indicating the system's potential for quick and effective food additive detection.
