Conductive and electrochemically active polymers consisting of Salen-type metal complexes as building blocks are of interest for energy storage and conversion applications. Asymmetric monomer design is a powerful tool for fine-tuning the practical properties of conductive electrochemically active polymers but has never been employed for polymers of M(Salen)]. In this work, we synthesize a series of novel conducting polymers composed of a nonsymmetrical electropolymerizable copper Salen-type complex (Cu(3-MeOSal-Sal)en).

In this work, a series of 3β-hydroxy-5-ene steroids, containing an isoxazole fragment in their side chain, was synthesized. The key steps included the preparation of Weinreb amide, its conversion to acetylenic ketones, and the 1,2- or 1,4-addition of hydroxylamine, depending on the solvent used.

In contrast, the H(3-MeOSalen) forms electroactive polymer films similarly to the corresponding nickel complex. There are no details of electrochemistry, doping mechanism and charge transfer pathways in the polymers of pristine Salen-type ligands.

In recent years, a number of new forms of cell death, including necroptosis, have been described. In necroptosis, a cascade of interactions between the kinases RIPK1 and RIPK3 and the MLKL protein leads to the formation of a specialized death complex called the necrosome, which triggers MLKL-mediated destruction of the cell membrane and necroptotic cell death.

The frequency of registered sleep-wake cycle complaints increases with age and correlates with the quality of life of elderly people. Nevertheless, whether insomnia is actually an age-associated process or whether it acts as an independent stress-factor that activates pathological processes, remains controversial.

Opsoclonus-myoclonus syndrome (OMS) is a very rare condition with various etiologies (paraneoplastic, parainfectious, toxic, idiopathic, etc.) with an autoimmune pathogenetic mechanism of development. The authors describe the case of OMS in a 41-year-old woman at 37 weeks of gestation, who developed opsoclonus, myoclonus, severe trunk ataxia, tremor and bilateral pyramidal symptoms, inability to sit, stand and walk without support.

The strains were assigned to 7 genera and 16 species according to their morphological, cultural, and physiologo-biochemical properties. Asporogenous forms prevailed; 52 strains possessed the amylolytic activity.
