This research report introduces a learning system designed to detect the object that humans are gazing at, using solely visual feedback. By incorporating face detection, human attention prediction, and online object detection, the system enables the robot to perceive and interpret human gaze accurately, thereby facilitating the establishment of joint attention with human partners. Additionally, a novel dataset collected with the humanoid robot iCub is introduced, comprising more than 22,000 images from ten participants gazing at different annotated objects.

This secondary analysis of a previous randomized controlled trial (RCT) evaluates alexithymia improvement and its factors in an experimental group versus a control group, exploring extensions to individuals with comorbid non-psychiatric chronic conditions. A feasibility cross-over RCT (ClinicalTrials.

Understanding the underlying cause of HFpEF is crucial for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. This condition can be caused by multiple factors, including ischemic or nonischemic myocardial diseases.

Objectives: To measure the effect of daily CBD use on neurocognitive performance and daily subjective mood in a population with primary insomnia.
Methods: This study used a randomized, placebo-controlled, parallel design incorporating a single-blind placebo run-in week followed by a two-week double-blind dosing period, during which participants consumed 150 mg CBD (N = 15) or placebo (N = 15) sublingually 60-minutes daily before bed.
Rehabilitative interventions employing technology play a crucial role in bipolar disorder (BD) treatment. The study aims to appraise the virtual reality (VR)-based cognitive remediation (CR) and the interpersonal rhythm approaches to treatment outcomes of BD across different age groups. Post-hoc analysis of a 12-week randomizedcontrolled cross-over feasibility trial involving people with mood disorders (BD, DSM-IV) aged 18-75 years old: thirty-nine exposed to the experimental VR-based CR vs 25 waiting list controls.

Sudden cardiac death (SCD) is the principal medical cause of death in athletes and can be the first and last clinical presentation of underlying disease. To prevent such episodes, pre-participation screening has been introduced in many countries to guarantee cardiovascular safety during sports and has become a common target among medical sports/governing organizations.

This study aimed to assess the role of anatomic annulus features in determining periprocedural conduction disturbances leading to new PPI after TAVI using the last-generation Edwards SAPIEN balloon-expandable valves. In the context of a prospective single-center registry, we integrated the clinical and procedural predictors of PPI with anatomic data derived from multislice computed tomography.

This has served as inspiration for optimising stiffness in robot arms during manipulation tasks. Endpoint stiffness is modelled in Cartesian space, as though the hand were in independent rigid body.

Recent studies have reported a decrease in parental participation due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, which has led to restricted access policies in hospitals. The aim of this study was to describe the barriers to good parental participation during their stay in the neonatal intensive care unit in the COVID-19 era.

Materials And Methods: Numbers on cardiac CT and MRI examinations were extracted from the MRCT-registry of the ESCR, entered between January 2011 and October 2023 (n = 432,265). Data collection included the total/annual numbers of examinations, indications, complications, and reporting habits.
Background: The COVID-19 pandemic seemed to mainly involve the respiratory system, but it was realized that it could affect any organ, including the CNS. The pandemic has followed a wave-like trend, with its peaks being due to the COVID-19 different variants and the introduction of the vaccine, which led to an apparent reduction in hospitalizations but also brought about perplexities related to its adverse effects. The aim of this study was to analyze the changes in the use of head CT/contrast CT and their impacts on the onset of cerebrovascular disease in our emergency department during the COVID-19 period and the vaccine rollout.

Key to its clinical success and efficiency are appropriate clinical indication triage, technical expertise, patient safety, standardized preparation and execution, quality assurance, efficient post-processing, structured reporting, and communication and clinical integration of findings. Technological advancements are driving faster, more accessible, and cost-effective approaches.

This trial explored the efficacy of 150 mg of CBD (n = 15) compared with placebo (n = 15) as a sleep aid in primary insomnia. CBD supplementation was hypothesized to decrease insomnia symptoms and improve aspects of psychological health, relative to placebo.

Recently, it has been proposed to use plankton as a biosensor, since they can react to even minimal perturbations of the aquatic environment with specific physiological changes, which may lead to alterations in morphology and behavior. Nowadays, the development of high-resolution in-situ automatic acquisition systems allows the research community to obtain a large amount of plankton image data.
