Panicle elongation length (PEL), which determines panicle exsertion, is an important outcrossing-related trait. Mining genes controlling PEL in rice (Oryza sativa L.) has great practical significance in breeding cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) lines with increased PEL and simplified, high-efficiency seed production.

In recent years, numerous genes related to grain size with differential effects have been cloned. The clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9 (Cas9) gene editing system is a convenient tool for modifying genes.

However, CNNs struggle with long-term dependencies in sequential EEG data. Models like long short-term memory and transformers improve performance but still face challenges of computational efficiency and long sequences.

To address this, an RIL population derived from a cross between cold-tolerant and cold-sensitive rice varieties was used to identify nine QTLs linked to cold tolerance under temperatures of 4 ℃, 5 °C, and 6 ℃ using a high-density genetic map. One candidate gene, LOC_Os07g44410, was identified through gene function annotation, haplotype analysis, and qRT-PCR, with two main haplotypes (Hap1 and Hap2) showing distinct phenotypic differences.

Utilizing functional MRI, structural MRI, and electronic health records, the system offers an objective diagnostic method by integrating individual brain regions and population data. Tested across cohorts from China, Japan, and Russia with 1,182 healthy controls and 1,260 MDD patients from 24 institutions, it achieved a classification accuracy of 78.

O-GlcNAcylation, an important post-translational modification of tau and many other proteins, is significantly decreased in brain tissue of AD patients relative to healthy controls. Increased tau O-GlcNAcylation has been shown to reduce tau pathology in mouse in vivo tauopathy models.

Interleukin (IL)-17A, a pro-inflammatory cytokine, is associated with DR occurrence and development. However, mechanisms underlying the IL-17A impact on DR need further investigations.

We aimed to determine the efficacy and safety of tenecteplase in Chinese patients with acute ischemic stroke due to large/medium vessel occlusion within an extended time window.
Methods: Patients with ischemic stroke presenting 4.
Biological systems are complex, encompassing intertwined spatial, molecular and functional features. However, methodological constraints limit the completeness of information that can be extracted. Here, we report the development of INSIHGT, a non-destructive, accessible three-dimensional (3D) spatial biology method utilizing superchaotropes and host-guest chemistry to achieve homogeneous, deep penetration of macromolecular probes up to centimeter scales, providing reliable semi-quantitative signals throughout the tissue volume.

However, the molecular genetic mechanisms underlying SER are still poorly understood. In this study, we identified 14 quantitative trait loci (QTLs) using a recombinant inbred line (RIL) population derived from B805D-MR-16-8-3 (B805D) and Hua6S.

Here, we aim to investigate risk factors associated with major adverse events following PIV infiltration, which may help risk stratify those who require early surgical consultation.
Methods: Retrospectively, patients were identified who had a documented PIV infiltration or extravasation event at 3 academic hospitals between 2015 and 2022.
Background: Adult traumatic brachial plexus injuries (BPIs) present a significant medical challenge, potentially leading to life-altering consequences for patients' upper extremity pain and function. However, the psychological impact on patients has not been extensively studied.
Methods: Adult patients with traumatic BPIs treated at 2 tertiary referral centers in the United States from 2015 to 2019 were retrospectively identified.
This research aimed to discern the effects of antiosteoporosis medication on postoperative functional recovery, refracture incidence, complications, and mortality in geriatric patients with intertrochanteric fractures. A retrospective study was conducted on 250 patients aged 65 years and above who underwent surgery for intertrochanteric fractures between January 2013 and December 2014. Intertrochanteric fracture is diagnosed with International Classification of Diseases 10th Revision code (S72.

Here, we develop a segmentation tracking and clustering system (STCS) to address two major challenges in computational neuroethology: reliable multi-animal tracking and pose estimation under complex interaction conditions and providing interpretable insights into social differences guided by genotype information. We established a comprehensive, long-term, multi-animal-tracking dataset across various experimental settings.

Purpose: Both governmental and nongovernmental training programs are expanding efforts to train the next generation of plastic surgeons who will work in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Sufficient training is dependent on acquiring the appropriate skillset for these contexts. Few studies have characterized the spectrum of practice of plastic surgeons in LMICs and their relative disparity.

We showed that senescence-sensitive spots (SSSs) colocalized with elevated entropy in organizational structure and that the aggregation of immunoglobulin-expressing cells is a characteristic feature of the microenvironment surrounding SSSs. Immunoglobulin G (IgG) accumulated across the aged tissues in both male and female mice, and a similar phenomenon was observed in human tissues, suggesting the potential of the abnormal elevation of immunoglobulins as an evolutionarily conserved feature in aging.
