The use of bis(NHC) manganese(I) complexes 3 as catalysts for the hydrogenation of esters was investigated. For that purpose, a series of complexes has been synthesized via an improved two step procedure utilizing bis(NHC)-BEt adducts. By applying complexes 3 with KHBEt as additive, various aromatic and aliphatic esters were hydrogenated successfully at mild temperatures and low catalyst loadings, highlighting the efficiency of the novel catalytic system.

For that purpose, Bu-substituted PNP complexes PNP Mo(CO) () and PNP Mo(CO) () and the NNP complex NNP Mo(CO)(PPh) (()-) were synthesized and characterized. By utilizing the cyclohexyl-substituted complex PNPMo(CO)(CHCN) (), several diphenylacetylene derivatives are transformed to the corresponding ()-alkenes with good to very good diastereoselectivities (up to 91:9).

During lactation, signals are communicated from the mother to the infant through milk via macronutrients, hormones, and bioactive molecules. In this study we designed experiments to probe the mother-milk-infant triad in the condition of normal maternal health and upon exposure to high fat diet (HFD) with or without concurrent metformin exposure.

Objective: To describe the profile of people who initiated HIV post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) in a public health service, evaluating the use of this technology by key populations as recommended by the Brazilian Ministry of Health.
Methods: This was a retrospective longitudinal study using secondary data on service users receiving care between 2015-2018. Absolute and relative frequencies were calculated and Pearson's chi-square test was used to compare behavioral characteristics.
This article discusses the perceptions of professionals and users about counselling practices at a counselling and testing centre in Porto Alegre/RS based on interviews with 27 service users and 14 members of the staff. The following categories emerged from thematic analysis: professionals' perceptions on counselling, users' perceptions on counselling and changes in counselling due to the introduction of rapid test procedures. The results show that, although initially there were some imprecision and apparent contradictions in its use, rapid testing was considered an invitation to rethink practices, bringing service closer to users' needs.
