Heating ability of magnetic nanoparticles with cubic and combined anisotropy.

The low frequency hysteresis loops and specific absorption rate (SAR) of assemblies of magnetite nanoparticles with cubic anisotropy are calculated in the diameter range of = 20-60 nm taking into account both thermal fluctuations of the particle magnetic moments and strong magneto-dipole interaction in assemblies of fractal-like clusters of nanoparticles. Similar calculations are also performed for assemblies of slightly elongated magnetite nanoparticles having combined magnetic anisotropy. A substantial dependence of the SAR on the nanoparticle diameter is obtained for all cases investigated.

[Luliberin analogues exhibiting a cytotoxic effect on tumor cells in vitro].

Luliberin analogues modified at the N-terminus were synthesized to search for drugs exerting a cytotoxic effect on cells of hormone-dependent tumors. A synthetic scheme effective in the preparation of analogues containing fatty acid residues was proposed. The cytotoxic effect of the peptides was studied on a number of cell lines of human tumors in vitro.

Responses of single receptor units of the rat mammary gland parenchyma to tactile stimulation.

Slowly adapting mechanoreceptor units with regular and irregular discharges were found in the mammary gland parenchyma. The receptive fields of both types of receptor units had a diameter of 1-1.5 mm.
