The first case of transcatheter device closure of perimembranous ventricular septal defect in Nigeria: a case report.

Ventricular septal defect (VSD) is the most common congenital cardiac anomaly with a prevalence of 1.17 per 1000 live births. Haemodynamically significant VSDs require closure either surgical or transcatheter.

Design, synthesis, characterization and and antimicrobial and antiinflammatory activities of a new series of sulphonamide and carbamate derivatives of a nebivolol intermediate.

A series of new sulphonamide and carbamate derivatives of Nebivolol drug intermediate (5) were designed and synthesized by reacting various biopotent sulphonylchlorides and chloroformates. The synthesized compounds are structurally characterized by spectral (IR, H & C NMR and mass) and screened for their antimicrobial activity against four bacterial and three fungal strains, and antiinflammatory activity against LPS-induced inflammation in RAW 264.7, COX-1 and COX-2 inhibition potentiality, antagonistic profiles of carrageenan induced paw edema and cotton pellet induced granuloma in rat.

High-Flux, Antifouling Hydrophilized Ultrafiltration Membranes with Tunable Charge Density Combining Sulfonated Poly(ether sulfone) and Aminated Graphene Oxide Nanohybrid.

In this work, a new protocol was developed for creating charge-tuned, hydrophilic hybrid ultrafiltration (UF) membranes with high flux, rejection rate, and fouling resistance. The membranes were fabricated using a combination of sulfonated poly(ether sulfone) (SPES) and aminated graphene (GO-SiO-NH) nanohybrid via the non-solvent-induced phase separation (NIPS) method. The GO-SiO-NH nanohybrid was first synthesized using GO nanosheets and 3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane (APTES) through the covalent condensation reaction at 80 °C and was thoroughly characterized.

Internal iliac artery pseudoaneurysm: a rare presentation with foot drop and sciatica.

Internal iliac artery pseudoaneurysm is rare in incidence with most of them being asymptomatic. It may present with neurologic symptoms like paraesthesia, sciatica, weakness of lower limb, foot drop, etc., and in such scenario, high index of suspicion is needed to diagnose.
