Liver abscess caused by the ingested foreign body without sign of gastrointestinal perforation: A case report.

The ingested foreign body is a very unusual etiology of liver abscess. This clinical scenario is infrequently reported in the literature. A 66-year-old male patient presented to the hospital because of abdominal pain along with 7 days of right upper quadrant pain and intermittent low-grade fever.

Impact of Aerobika oscillating positive expiratory pressure in improving small airway resistance, lung function, symptoms and exercise capacity in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Background: Aerobika oscillating positive expiratory pressure (OPEP) device promotes airway clearance in many respiratory diseases. However, studies have yet to focus on its effectiveness in improving small airway resistance impulse oscillometry (IOS) measurement in COPD subjects. We aim to evaluate the improvement of small airway resistance ( IOS), lung function (spirometry), exercise capacity [ 6-min walking test (6MWT)], symptoms [COPD assessment test (CAT)] and severe exacerbation events among COPD subjects using Aerobika OPEP.

Coronary artery vasospasm (CVS), an uncommon cause of acute chest pain, can be provoked by vasoconstriction-induced medications. Misoprostol, a prostaglandin analog, is a safe medication to terminate a pregnancy. However, misoprostol can cause coronary artery vasospasm due to vasoconstrictor properties, leading to acute myocardial infarction with nonobstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA), especially in patients with a high risk for cardiovascular disease.

Preparations and characterizations of effervescent granules containing azithromycin solid dispersion for children and elder: Solubility enhancement, taste-masking, and digestive acidic protection.

Azithromycin, a macrolide antibiotics, is one of the frequently used drugs in the children and elder. However, due to these population difficulty in swallowing and inefficient absorption, and azithromycin inherent poor solubility, bitter taste, and instability in the stomach acidic condition, it is a challenge to reach high oral bioavailability of this drug. To overcome these issues, we developed and characterized the effervescent granules containing azithromycin solid dispersion.

Background: Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) is a common condition affecting more than 170 people per 100,000 population. However, POTS following COVID-19 vaccination remains a rare reporting in the medical literature.

Objective: We, herein, summarize and highlight the evidence that has been reported regarding POTS-like symptoms following COVID-19 vaccination.
