Objective: Cannabis use has increased in the United States as states have legalized/decriminalized recreational and/or medicinal use. The primary aim of this study was to examine daily associations between cannabis use and health (physical activity [PA]) and substance use (alcohol consumption, cigarette use) behaviors.

Method: Data from a 28-day nationwide study that prompted daily ecological momentary assessments (EMAs) were used to assess daily cannabis use, moderate-to-vigorous PA (MVPA), alcohol containing drinks consumed, and cigarettes smoked.

'Biological aging clocks' - composite molecular markers thought to capture an individual's biological age - have been traditionally developed through bulk-level analyses of mixed cells and tissues. However, recent evidence highlights the importance of gaining single-cell-level insights into the aging process. Microglia are key immune cells in the brain shown to adapt functionally in aging and disease.

Single-cell technologies enable comprehensive profiling of diverse immune cell-types through the measurement of multiple genes or proteins per cell. In order to translate data from immune profiling assays into powerful diagnostics, machine learning approaches are used to compute per-sample immunological summaries, or featurizations that can be used as inputs to models for outcomes of interest. Current supervised learning approaches for computing per-sample representations are optimized based only on the outcome variable to be predicted and do not take into account clinically-relevant covariates that are likely to also be measured.

The use of medical cannabis (MC) to treat a host of conditions has expanded considerably in the United States; however, precise quantitative assessments of purchasing characteristics are unknown. This study sought to characterize the trends in MC purchases, US dollars spent, and type and amount purchased by demographic and clinical characteristics. This descriptive exploratory association study examined statewide MC registry data in Arkansas linked at the person level with statewide transaction data documenting each MC purchase.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine if there are age-related differences in semantic processing with linguistic and nonlinguistic masking, as measured by the N400.

Method: Sixteen young (19-31 years) and 16 middle-aged (41-57 years) adults with relatively normal hearing sensitivity were asked to determine whether word pairs were semantically related or unrelated in three listening conditions: quiet, forward, and reverse two-talker speech competition at 0 dB SNR. Behavioral data (accuracies and reaction times) and auditory event-related potential data (N400 amplitudes and latencies) were analyzed using separate mixed design multivariate analysis of variances.
