Patient-level analysis of the cost and variation in melatonin prescribing patterns in those under 18 in the North East of England.

Background: Melatonin is widely used to promote sleep in both normally developing children and adolescents and those with neurodevelopmental disorders. It has an evidence base as both hypnotic and chronobiotic although the optimum dose and timing remain unclear. There are now a wide variety of different preparations of melatonin both immediate and prolonged release.

Introducing IsoMad, a compilation of isotopic datasets for Madagascar.

We present the first open-access, island-wide isotopic database (IsoMad) for modern biologically relevant materials collected on Madagascar within the past 150 years from both terrestrial and nearshore marine environments. Isotopic research on the island has increasingly helped with biological studies of endemic organisms, including evaluating foraging niches and investigating factors that affect the spatial distribution and abundance of species. The IsoMad database should facilitate future work by making it easy for researchers to access existing data (even for those who are relatively unfamiliar with the literature) and identify both research gaps and opportunities for using various isotope systems to answer research questions.

A novel experiential work-based learning model in paediatric secondary care using entrustable professional activities to develop clinical knowledge and communication skills.

Background: Initial education and training standards for pharmacists in Great Britain require early clinical exposure to patients using experiential work-based learning. However, there is poor evidence of this approach in some settings, such as paediatric care. The aim of this study was therefore to explore a novel model of experiential work-based learning for student pharmacists in a paediatric setting.
