[Influence of proximal articular set angle on the result of surgical treatment for hallux valgus: an X-ray aspect].

Surgery correcting talipes varus and hallux valgus was conducted in 128 female patients (150 feet). The group of the patients was studied in accordance with the proximal articular set angle (PASA). The results of treatment were assessed, by taking into account this index; they were found to depend on the outcome of PASA correction.

Roentgenometric parameters estimated by Russian radiologists and orthopedic surgeons fail to provide a complete and objective assessment of anterior foot deformity.
