[Epileptic seizures in patients with stroke: risk factors and mechanisms of their development].

The current state of the problem of epileptic seizures developed after ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke is presented. Etiology, pathogenesis risk factors of epileptic seizures and their impact on the course and severity of stroke are reviewed. It has been shown that "early" and "late" epileptic seizures have different mechanisms of development.
