Cancer genomes are rife with genetic variants; one key outcome of this variation is widespread gain-of-cysteine mutations. These acquired cysteines can be both driver mutations and sites targeted by precision therapies. However, despite their ubiquity, nearly all acquired cysteines remain unidentified via chemoproteomics; identification is a critical step to enable functional analysis, including assessment of potential druggability and susceptibility to oxidation.

Upper limb actions require intersegmental coordination of the scapula, shoulders, elbows, forearms, wrists, and hand muscles. Stroke hemiparesis, presenting as an impairment of an intersegmentally coordinated voluntary movement, is associated with altered integrity of corticospinal tract (CST) transmission from the motor cortex (M1) to muscles. Motor evoked potentials (MEPs) elicited by M1 transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) of "at rest" muscles, or as a backup, during muscle contraction have been used to identify CST integrity and predict the outcome after hemiparesis, under the implicit assumption that MEPs present in only one or two muscles are manifest surrogates of CST integrity for other muscles of the upper limbs.

In clinical settings, standard dosimeters might miss radiation mishaps. Retrospective dosimeters could help to track personnel (such as patients and other staff who don't wear dosimeters) exceeding safe limits and assess long-term exposure trends. This work builds upon a prior study, examining the dosimetric utility of pencil lead and thin graphitic sheets, focusing upon the measurement of skin doses within the mammographic regime.
