Sexual Adverse Effects and Erectile Dysfunction During Buprenorphine/Naloxone Combination Treatment for Opioid Use Disorders.

Background And Objectives: Compliance and maintenance of abstinence is a major issue in substance use disorders. Adverse effects of opioid maintenance treatments (OMT) include sexual dysfunctions. There is a vast amount of studies regarding sexual adverse effects of conventional OMTs; however, information regarding buprenorphine/naloxone (Bup/Nal) combination is limited, mostly evaluated in western populations and controversial.

Sociodemographic and clinical characteristics of synthetic cannabinoid users in a large psychiatric emergency department in Turkey.

Synthetic cannabinoid (SC) use is a global concern and is creating new challenges for treatment services. Although some studies have been reported, there is a need for further research regarding the sociodemographic and clinical characteristics of SC users so that general and psychiatric emergency departments can provide more effective treatments. We aimed to investigate the sociodemographic and clinical characteristics in a cohort of patients using SC who presented to the psychiatric emergency department of the University of Health Sciences, Istanbul Erenköy Training and Research Hospital for Psychiatry and Neurology (ERSHEAH) in Istanbul, Turkey.

The use of serum zinc to prostate-specific antigen ratio as a biomarker in the prediction of prostate biopsy outcomes.

Aim: To generate a combination of serum zinc (Zn) and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in an attempt to provide better prediction of prostate biopsy outcomes with Zn/PSA ratios.

Materials & Methods: Diagnostic performances of PSA and Zn/PSA were investigated using receiver operating characteristic and the area under the curve analysis and McNemar test in 480 men. Decision curve analysis was also used to determine the net clinical benefits of the two parameters.

Reliability and validity of the Incontinence Quiz-Turkish version.

Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the Incontinence Quiz, which was developed by Branch et al. (1994), to assess women's knowledge of and attitudes toward urinary incontinence.

Methods: Comprehensibility of the Turkish version of the 14-item Incontinence Quiz, which was prepared following translation-back translation procedures, was tested on a pilot group of eight women, and its internal reliability, test-retest reliability and construct validity were assessed in 150 women who attended the gynecology clinics of three hospitals in İçel, Turkey.

Association of AKR1C3 Polymorphisms with Bladder Cancer.

Purpose: Polymorphisms in the genes coding for the carcinogen metabolizing enzymes may affect enzyme activities and alter the activation and detoxification rates of the carcinogens. AKR1C3 is one of the very polymorphic xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes involved in the bioactivation process. Here we aimed to investigate the association of two single nucleotide polymorphisms in AKR1C3, rs12529 (c.
