Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma within a Second Branchial Cleft Cyst. A Diagnostic and Treatment Challenge.

Introduction: Lateral cervical cystic masses are a relatively common occurrence in the otolaryngology practice, which are often attributed to second branchial cleft cysts. However, there should always be a high suspicion for malignancy until proven otherwise.

Case Presentation: We present a clinical report of a lateral cervical cyst surgical excision where histopathological examination has revealed features of a branchial cleft cyst harboring a papillary thyroid carcinoma.

3D Printing in ENT Training: Current State-of-the-Art and Perspectives.

Objectives: Three-dimensional (3D) printing has been incorporated into medical research and numerous applications have been reported since its development in the 1980s. Ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgery is one of the fields that 3D printing is gaining increasing popularity, as it can contribute to surgical training, patient education and bioengineering. This article aims at providing an updated review of 3D printed models applications in improving ENT trainees' surgical skills.

Primary Intracranial Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma: Report of Three Cases.

 Nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses host a variety of malignant tumors with adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) being the most frequent cancer of salivary gland origin. The histological origin of such tumors virtually precludes primarily intracranial localization. The aim of this study is to report cases of primarily intracranial ACC without evidence of other primary lesions at the end of an exhaustive diagnostic workup.

Impalement of children with foreign bodies is not uncommon. A variety of foreign bodies and mechanisms of injuries have been described. Infant tissues are more vulnerable to injuries and often penetrating traumas are very dangerous.
