Neonicotinoid pesticide use has increased around the world despite accumulating evidence of their potential detrimental sub-lethal effects on the behaviour and physiology of bees, and its contribution to the global decline in bee health. Whilst flower colour is considered as one of the most important signals for foraging honey bees (Apis mellifera), the effects of pesticides on colour vision and memory retention in a natural setting remain unknown. We trained free flying honey bee foragers by presenting artificial yellow flower feeder, to an unscented artificial flower patch with 6 different flower colours to investigate if sub-lethal levels of imidacloprid would disrupt the acquired association made between the yellow flower colour from the feeder and food reward.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the responses provided by ChatGPT-4o to the most frequently asked questions by patients regarding hip arthroscopy.

Materials And Methods: In this cross-sectional survey study, a new Google account without a search history was created to determine the 20 most frequently asked questions about hip arthroscopy via Google. These questions were asked to a new ChatGPT-4o account on June 1, 2024, and the responses were recorded.

Comparison of screw fixation and dynamic fixation in the treatment of ankle fractures with syndesmotic ruptures.

Background: Syndesmosis injuries in ankle fractures can significantly impact patient mobility and recovery, making the choice of fixation method crucial for optimal outcomes. This study aimed to compare the quality of reduction and functional results between screw fixation and dynamic fixation in treating syndesmosis injuries in ankle fractures.

Methods: This cohort study included 48 patients (28 males, 20 females) with an ankle fracture accompanied by syndesmosis injury.

High Performance Piezoelectric Nanogenerators Based on Polyvinylidene Fluoride-Graphene Nanoribbon Composite Thin Films.

In this study, a highly efficient, sensitive, and lightweight piezoelectric nanogenerator (PENG) is developed using graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) incorporated into the polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) matrix. Unzipping multi-walled carbon nanotubes is an effective and scalable strategy for synthesizing graphene nanoribbons. The synthesized GNRs are employed to prepare nanometer-scale piezoelectric polymer composite films showing higher piezoelectric performance than neat PVDF.

Identification and distribution of some medico-veterinary important pathogens in muscid flies in two geographical regions of Türkiye.
