Background: The 2018 revision of the adult Heart Allocation Policy (aHAP) led to a notable increase in the rate of simultaneous heart-kidney transplants (SHKT) in the United States. However, this policy has faced criticism for its inability to enhance post-transplant survival rates or decrease mortality among SHKT recipients on the waitlist, although high-quality kidneys are used.
Methods: We analyzed data from the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network, covering 1549 SHKT cases from 2015 to 2021.
Introduction: Post-stroke cognitive impairment is associated with impaired quality of life. Remote testing provides a potential avenue to measure cognitive outcomes efficiently.
Patients And Methods: Prospective cognitive outcomes were collected at 90-180 days using both telephone MoCA (T-MoCA; range 0-22; <17 impairment) and Creyos, a computerized cognitive battery.
Infections due to multidrug-resistant (MDR) are associated with severe morbidity and mortality, worldwide. Microbial drug resistance is a complex phenomenon which is conditioned by an interplay of several genomic, transcriptomic and proteomic factors. Here, we have conducted an integrated transcriptomics and proteomics analysis of MDR to identify genes which are differentially expressed at both mRNA and protein levels.

Compared to the adult literature, there are few enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols standardized in the pediatric population. The objective of the current study is to determine if the implementation of an ERAS protocol would improve patient outcomes in the ambulatory pediatric urologic population. A retrospective analysis was performed on pediatric patients who underwent urologic procedures (circumcision, orchiopexy, hypospadias correction, and urethroplasty) in the ambulatory surgical setting affiliated with a tertiary pediatric hospital.
