Objective: Idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM) are a heterogeneous group of systemic autoimmune disorders affecting skeletal muscles but also other organs. There are different forms of IIM, each with peculiar clinical manifestations and prognosis. Accordingly, several autoantibodies have been described in IIM, with different prevalence in the different forms of the disease.

Successful transvaginal ultrasound-guided puncture and injection of a cervical pregnancy in a patient with simultaneous intrauterine pregnancy and a history of a previous cervical pregnancy.

Cervical pregnancy is a rare type of ectopic pregnancy. A recurrent cervical pregnancy in conjunction with a viable intrauterine pregnancy is an even rarer event. We present a case in which a recurrent cervical pregnancy was treated by selective reduction using an injection of potassium chloride guided by transvaginal sonography.

Colposcopic evaluation of human immunodeficiency virus-seropositive women.

To determine the effect of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection on cervical histology, 32 known HIV-seropositive women underwent cervical colposcopic evaluation. All had cervical cytology, colposcopically directed biopsy, and T-cell studies performed. Thirteen of 32 patients (41%) had cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN).
