Twelve tips for optimising learning for postgraduate doctors in the operating theatre.

Learning in the operating theatre forms a critical part of postgraduate medical education. Postgraduate doctors present a diverse cohort of learners with a wide range of learning needs that will vary by their level of experience and curriculum requirements. With evidence of both trainee dissatisfaction with the theatre learning experience and reduced time spent in the operating theatre, which has been exacerbated by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is vital that every visit to the operating theatre is used as a learning opportunity.

The first Australian uterus transplantation procedure: A result of a long-term Australian-Swedish research collaboration.

Aims: The aim is to report the results of Australia's first uterus transplantation (UTx).

Methods: Following long-standing collaboration between the Swedish and Australian teams, Human Research Ethics approval was obtained to perform six UTx procedures in a collaborative multi-site research study (Western Sydney Local District Health 2019/ETH13038), including Royal Hospital for Women, Prince of Wales Hospital, and Westmead Hospital in New Souh Wales. Surgeries were approved in both the live donor (LD) and deceased donor models in collaboration with the inaugural Swedish UTx team.

UK CoPACK Study: knowledge and confidence of healthcare workers in using personal protective equipment and related anxiety levels during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Background: Healthcare workers (HCWs) are at increased risk of coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) infection. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and infection control guidelines help limit transmission. However, poor confidence leads to higher levels of anxiety rates and infection.

Arthrogryposis is a heterogenous condition with a wide variety of etiological causes. It has been subdivided clinically based on the presence of additional features. Dominant gain of function (GoF) pathogenic variants in PIEZO2 have been associated with several forms of arthrogryposis.

Dislocation of the hip after normal sonographic screening examination: a case report and literature review.

We report the case of a five-month-old girl presenting with a subluxed left hip following normal neonatal clinical examination and serial ultrasound screening. Her only risk factor for developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) was breech presentation. She underwent closed reduction with successful concentric reduction.
