Investigation of Pharyngeal Swallow Function of Healthy Older Adults Using Visual Analysis of Swallowing Efficiency and Safety Scale.

- - Twenty healthy individuals were assessed through various evaluations including the EAT-10 K, VVST, and FEES, measuring residue in different throat areas during swallowing.
- - Results showed that a significant percentage of participants had residue in the oropharynx (95%) and hypopharynx (85%), indicating compromised swallow safety and efficiency among older adults.
Background: This report is based on a 2023 nationwide survey and literature review of physician associates/assistants (PAs) in India. The National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions Act, 2021, which is being implemented in India, included guidelines for PA licensing, creating a unified national curriculum, and preventing malpractice.
Methods: Using a purposive sampling strategy, we surveyed 536 PAs in India between February 10 and April 30, 2023.

Unlabelled: The swallowing quality of life (SWAL-QOL) questionnaire is a commonly used tool to assess the impact of dysphagia on quality of life. SWAL-QOL has been translated and validated in many languages. There is no valid dysphagia-specific quality of life tool in Indian languages.

But to date, no studies have explored its benefits in training individuals with post-stroke dysphagia. The present study investigated the long- term effect of effortful swallow with progressive resistance on swallow safety, efficiency and quality of life in persons with dysphagia following stroke.

Objective: The main objective of the study was to compare four measures of TOMASS (number of bites, number of masticatory cycles, number of swallowing and total time taken) across brands of Marie biscuits and gender.
Methodology: The study employed a cross-sectional design with nonrandomized convenience sampling. A total of 60 participants (30 females and 30 males) were recruited for the study in the age range of 18 to 26 years.
