Purpose: This descriptive analysis evaluated the 2022 assisted reproductive technology (ART) data collected by the Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology registry.

Methods And Results: In 2022 (cutoff date 30 November 2023), 634 of 635 registered ART facilities participated; 602 implemented ART treatment, with 543 630 registered cycles and 77 206 neonates (9.1% and 10.

Article Synopsis
  • Ossifying fibroma (OF) is a benign bone lesion characterized by fibrous tissue and immature bone or cementum, often triggered by factors like trauma or dental issues, and is more common in women aged 20-40.* -
  • A rare case study of an 18-year-old man misdiagnosed with a static bone cavity revealed OF, shown as a radiolucent area on radiographs and confirmed through cone-beam computed tomography imaging.* -
  • The lesion was successfully removed, and histopathological analysis confirmed the diagnosis, highlighting the importance of accurate imaging and diagnosis to avoid confusing OF with other conditions.*

Decidualization of the human endometrium is critical for establishing pregnancy and is entailed by differentiation of endometrial stromal cells (ESCs) into decidual cells. During decidualization, the actin cytoskeleton is dynamically reorganized for the ESCs' morphological and functional changes. Although actin dynamically alters its polymerized state upon external stimuli not only in the cytoplasm, but also in the nucleus, nuclear actin dynamics during decidualization have not been elucidated.

Article Synopsis
  • Dose-dense paclitaxel/carboplatin (ddTC) therapy was initially thought to be more effective for treating ovarian cancer than the traditional tri-weekly TC, based on the JGOG3016 study, although later studies showed mixed results.
  • A retrospective analysis of patients treated with ddTC from 2012 to 2018 revealed high response rates (RRs) and progression-free survival (PFS) times, with front-line treatment achieving an RR of 82.9% and a median PFS of 20 months.
  • Overall, ddTC therapy showed strong effectiveness in managing advanced stages (III and IV) of ovarian cancer, providing promising outcomes for both first-line and platinum-sensitive relapse treatments.

Article Synopsis
  • Decidualization is crucial for successful embryo implantation, and failures in this process can lead to issues like miscarriage; the extent of decidualization failure in infertile women is not well understood.
  • Researchers analyzed endometrial samples from 33 infertile women in the late-secretory phase to determine the prevalence of decidualization failure and examined key transcription factors related to the process.
  • Findings showed that 62.5% of the women experienced decidualization failure, which was linked to a history of more miscarriages, and notable differences in the expression levels of important transcription factors were observed between those with and without failures.
